Because. as we all know, it's so very sane to allow the citizenry to stockpile assault weapons. That's the sign of a healthy, happy society, dontcha know? Just wait until agriculture in CA collapses due to long-term drought. People will be machine-gunning each other over food. If you haven't figured out how to move to Canada yet, I'd work on that now, rather than try to crash the gate after your particular brand of "sanity" explodes onto society.
