The left's ultimate goal here is to create a populace that will keep them in power long enough to sufficiently erode the constitutional rights that would allow the populace to remove them from power later.

Sadly, there are many kernels of truth from my own diversity and inclusion training in that comedy.

The Nazis also told people to rely on feelings as they knew the logic and facts weren't there. Sounds like liberals today to be honest.

Should we not teach our children about some of the darker periods of American history? As far as I'm aware CRT is teaching the history of enslavement and colonialism. These things happened, why should children not learn about it?

wow. you truly know nothing about CRT.

bans on CRT would in no way prevent teaching about American history.

I'm more "horrified" that schools seem to not be teaching how to avoid hyperbole.

No admittedly, I don't know a lot about CRT. I fear looking at links provided by parties fiercely aligned or against might lead me astray.

Do you know of a fairly neutral explanation of what it is?

I think that they should be taught. The concept that they should be taught in a way that says "America bad" or "America sinful and without redeeming qualities" is quite wrong. When you edge out the teaching of Lexington and Concord and Bunker Hill and replace it with a gruesome, dystopian rendering of the slave ships, slave beatings and separation of families that overdoes it. Both the underside and sunny side of history need to be taught.

In times past we could be accused of concentrating too heavily on the positive and now the modern left has us focusing too heavily on the negative. Balance is needed. America can still be a great country even with our flaws. It's important not to ignore them and also important not to let them solely define us. Except of course for someone who is actively seeking to undermine the fabric of our nation.
