Conservatives: Do you self censor in places other than CD? Is free speech gone, like Trump just said? I know I do. I live in bat **** crazy Liberal Land. The people here are nuts. Conservatives are guarded. We used to think we were the only ones but now we put out feelers and connect with each other.

Can you and do you say anything you want outside of CD? Especially interested if you live in a liberal area like I do. We KNOW it's safe to talk in Florida.

No, it is not “safe” to talk in Florida or anywhere else in the USA.

Poor conservatives, are your ideas not worth sharing. Don’t want to back em up when someone else disagrees? You want an echo chamber. Please plenty of opportunities to say what you think no matter where you live. You choose not to is all.

no one is asking for an echo chamber, nor are they complaining about having to back up their ideas

I forgot, what it means to not be afraid to say something. Even with my sons, I have to bite my tongue all the time.
I had superbly more freedom of speech back in the USSR, than I have here and now. Sadly so.

No, we cannot speak freely. If we express an opinion that deviates even slightly from the liberal narrative, we risk being shunned, ridiculed, doxxed, losing jobs, losing out on promotions, and so forth. It’s what communism feels like: parrot the official state line, or risk the consequences.

Yes, it’s sad. I have elderly Chinese neighbors who immigrated here more than 40 years ago, and they are appalled by what they see America turning into.

I'm not PC and we have free speech! I say whatever I want, whenever I want. If it offends somebody, oh well! That's on them not me.
Now, I live in a conservative area but the state itself is very liberal but who cares? I also don't speak the new "PC" names of things when the so called "powers to be" decide to change names to not offend.
People need to grow thicker skin again but unfortunately due to modern lazyness, a sheltered lifestyle, automation and this stupid virtual reality BS (where people believe they are actually experiencing things) has made everybody a thin skinned wuss who has no concept of actually living!

Free speech is not freedom from any/all consequences.

If you feel the need to self-censor, perhaps taking a harder look at what you wish you could say, or how you wish you could say it is in order?

I freely talk about "conservative" positions I advocate for - smaller government, fiscal responsibility, 2A protections, etc. Never been a problem for me. <shrug>
