The Democratic mayors and governors at least didn't call the pandemic a hoax, tell people to not wear masks, tell people to inject bleach to fight Covid, or held parties at the Rose Garden maskless that infected a bunch of party leaders including the president himself.
In a two party system, the Democrats only has to outperform the Republicans. And they did.

First of all, the lab leak theory is not political, is not merely right wing. And most who believe in lab leak don't think it was intentional. And we don't necessarily think the virus is especially dangerous, or that extreme lockdowns were needed.
