The law had banned abortions of pregnancies of more than eight weeks duration and also prevented women seeking abortions for fetuses with Downs syndrome.

My response and opinion: Good for them. Eight weeks is much too soon and no woman should be forced to give birth to a child with a strong possibility of being severely disabled, in my opinion.

8 weeks is absurd. I think 15-20 weeks is realistically the strictest limit that should be considered.

Yes some of these states are tripping over each other attempting to lower the window, absurd.

For those who are curious, the following link shows a map that as of June 2019, had very restrictive laws concerning abortions.

https://www.npr.org/sections/health-...ve-passed-them

I think it is very surprising that Utah, for example, is less restrictive than Ohio. (But I think that was due to Kasich's influence which is about the only issue that I disagree with Kasich about.)

If it were up to me, I would not allow abortions past 22 weeks unless the mother's life was in danger or the fetus was dead or there was at least a 50% chance that the unborn child would be born with severe disabilities, meaning that s/he would require lifelong care and/or have a severely diminished quality of life.)
