Yeah....time for this man and his ego to go.
He’s just going by the mantra that the best defense is a good offense. If he doesn’t then people might question the guy for giving funding and gain of function research to an authoritarian country that could use it for terrible purposes or release it through incompetence and kill 3,000,000 people worldwide (and counting).

Two conflicting talking points in play on the whole science thing.

1. Blindly obey scientists or you don't believe in science.
2. It's ok if science gets it wrong, it's even ok if scientists lie to you for your own good. It's all part of science.

Considering point 2 why would I follow point 1?

I'm sure even for questioning the contradiction there will be those who would say I am being a troglodyte who doesn't believe in science. It's almost like science has become a religion!

You could ask the same question about preachers and televangelists, yet half the country insist they have the truth. In the grand scheme of things, who has a better track record? The scientists or the preachers?

Thus far, a preacher has never been able to force me to do anything. You don't like what a preacher is saying, you ignore him. You don't like what the GOS Fauxi is saying... you get clubbed with a baton or go to jail.

Really? Nobody is forcing conservatives to be vaccinated. Red states are passing laws to protect conservatives' right to not be vaccinated.

Fauci is correct though that by refusing to be vaccinated, conservatives are insuring that the pandemic will continue and every time there's a new variant, the chances increase that the existing vaccines will be made ineffective due to a mutation. Plus, there will continue to be regional outbreaks and deaths associated with this virus. And for what, to own the libs? Fortunately, the vaccines protect against every variant so far and hopefully that continues. The virus doesn't care whether Republicans believe in it.

One detail who intrigued me is why Fauci said then HCQ needs more studying while vaccines should be used without study. //www.city-data.com/forum/polit...ispensing.html

Which reminds me, maybe we should ask Fauci how's your going with your studies on hydroxychloroquine and remdesivir?
