Unfortunately the Biden administration and the left likes to pick and choose which clauses in the 14th that it wants to enforce.
Birthright citizenship -- check.
Equal protection under the law -- only selectively enforced. Okay for the liberals, thrown in the trash for everybody else on the right.
The 14th Amendment does several things, most notably birthright citizenship and equal protection under the laws.
Trump claimed that the courts were misinterpreting birthright citizenship and pointed out that Canada is the only other developed country on earth that has it.
Meanwhile, Biden in the name of equity wants to push racist policies that violate equal protection under the law and is befuddled that courts are stopping his racist equity policies.
Should the 14th Amendment be repealed?
This has long been my interpretation of it long before Trump.
The 14th Amendment doesn't give birthright citizenship. Congress could change that but it hasn't. That part of the 14th was just designed to make the current former slaves citizens.
Democrats push racist policies such as a bill to help poor farmers as the official stated goal, but finances of farmers aren't a consideration. The race and or nation of origin of farmers is what makes one eligible. Whites are ineligible due to the color of their skin.
To make it clear, a bill whose stated purpose is to help struggling farmers can pay off 120% of the debt of a successful black farmer, but will refuse to help a struggling white farmer.
I would be for removing birthright citizenship if we can strengthen voter protection and have states pay stiff penalties when they are proven to use poll taxes or similar voter protections. What do you think OP? The recent voter suppression measures shows we need the voting protections under the 14th as much now as we did ever.
