Some attract attention when they are innocent. It had been known to happen.
It can for sure. Like snowstorms or 90° weather in October or April in New York. Both happen but are rare.

I hope all 4 get off. They did the American people a great service. Thieves have no place in our society and quite frankly, that little punk deserved worse than what he got. How would you like it if that idiot decided your house was his next target.

Gross.
Whats gross is some idiot taking things that doesnt belong to him. He would not have got beat had he not committed a crime. Actions have consequences. Youre free to invite him to your house to take whatever he wants if you feel sorry for him though.

What's gross is anyone who thinks violating an individuals rights is a good thing. And the taxpayers will suffer on this yet again.

Nobody cares about a thiefs rights. Taxpayers have to suffer because some idiot doesnt know not to take things that arent his.

*Alleged thief.

Some people really forget you're innocent until proven guilty. What we can see is him taking a beating, we don't see him stealing.

I can't believe how many here have no issue with the state handing out beatings to those accused of petty theft. Easy to see how regimes like Saudi Arabia can have such harsh punishments for theft, such as hands being cut off when even in America people are happy to look the other way and defend the police actions that violate an individual's rights.

Obviously, that would be the case. The fact is policing as it is right now does not work for suicide calls.

It's because we think people who do X is already guilty. Martin Luther King Jr. faced similar police brutality measures in the 1950's and 60's and he was peacefully protesting. Look at OJ Simpson, everyone thought he was guilty in 1994 but a jury found him innocent in 1995 largely due to racism by one of the lead detectives and the glove that due to the latex gloves to not effect DNA evidence did not fit OJ.

A lot of people care about the rights of the accused, actually. That's why we have the Miranda Warning, the right to counsel, the right to a fair and speedy trial, the laws against cruel and unusual punishment, etc.

Maybe you don't care about a petty thief, but your country does.
