Just more crazy... As far as I'm concerned if anyone gets 'hurt feelings' from a holiday name, then they are way too sensitive.

Merry 'Days Off': Petition calls for woke NJ school board members to RESIGN after they canceled all holiday names from the calendar including Thanksgiving and Memorial Day

  • A petition is calling for Randolph Board of Education board members to resign having voted to remove all holiday names off of the school calendar
  • The move came amidst backlash over changing Columbus Day to Indigenous Peoples Day from the 100-plus people who attended the meeting
  • The holidays from Thanksgiving to Memorial Day, MLK to Presidents Day and Easter are now simply designated as simply 'days off'
  • The idea behind the holiday name change stems from an effort to avoid 'hurt feelings' over holidays that target specific people or groups

There is a LOT more about the education system these days to get upset about than leaving holidays off a calendar.

Well, sounds like the REASON they did this is they're sick and tired of the public belly-aching about the holidays, in particular Columbus Day turning into Indigenous People's Day, and Christmas being wiped off the calendar, and they just want to get back to considering educational issues and quit having the public whine and rend their hair and clothing.

But of course, now, people are whining and rending their hair and clothing.

Yup....they thought they were solving a problem and instead opened a can of worms that has gotten out of control.

No one should have changed the names of the original holidays. We had them for decades upon decades.
Then a vocal minority managed to get things changed and now everyone seems to be in an uproar for one thing or another.

This is what happens when CRT and Antiracism takes foot whole into the public and private education system.

Maybe they should let the people vote on this instead of some overpaid administrator????

I was curious and looked this up..

Randolph, NJ went for Biden by 56%-42%.

This is what neighborhoods in the city look like:

Right-wingers' views of democrats as consisting of ghetto thugs and hippies is so outdated it isn't funny. 30+ years ago places like Randolph were rock-solid Reagan republicans. No more.

These people need to be removed and replaced with rational fair minded people.

We're going down some weird path here with all of this garbage.

Your argument is self defeating. If they were truly primarily focused on educational issues then they wouldn't have made the changes to the holidays to begin with. That they are having to deal with backlash stems from the very notion that they are injecting politics into their priorities.
