Think of the money they would save from theft, hiring cashiers, stockers would be minimal since they don’t have to do merchandising. They would only have to hire “shoppers” to fulfill orders. Granted, this would probably impact “impulse buys” but your savings would probably make up for that.

As for thieves, we could have “package” stores where they could go to get the basic commodities, much like the welfare groceries. That would be courtesy of the taxpayers just like welfare. No booze or frivolous stuff, but they won’t starve. And prices would not have to increase in retail if theft is eliminated. This is a win-win for everyone. We won’t have over-worked cashiers to deal with, and everyone could be safer not having to deal with derelicts out to cause problems.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported that Walgreens closed 17 stores in the last five years due to theft.

See story here: SF Walgreens – Man fills garbage bag with items off the shelf
Oh look, a smart person why understands the end game. Along with automation in stores this is the way it is going to go. Even at stores where theft wasnt the problem this will be the excuse. It's a long game/marathon for full on dystopia.

They're paying now. Walgreens can't be the only business closing shop in many of these communities.

A criminal is a criminal. They can minimize and rationalize any way the want but the criminal is going to do what they want especially if they know there are little or consequences.

That dollar amount was probably put to vote because a VIP family member or friend and got caught so to minimize their actions they got the bill introduced to say see it's not a crime. Throw in pandering or progessive politicians this number got the support it needed to pass.

A thief is a thief. A thief is a criminal. Criminals left untouched will eventually escalate, increase or expand their criminal behavior. Which is basically what's happening now. Instead of trying to sneak a few items into their pockets now bring "shopping" bags.

In Oklahoma, it's under $1000. It had to be reduced to that, because Oklahoma didn't have enough public money to sustain continuing to be the most highly imprisoned place in the world.

Rode his bike right into the store. No one stopped him. Filled a garbage bag with merchandise. No one stopped him. Rode his bicycle out of the store while carrying the garbage bag full of shop lifted items. No one stopped him.

Welcome to Pelosi's Poo town.

San Francisco Walgreens: Video shows man fill garbage bag with items, takes off

A video emerged on social media on Monday that showed a man on a bicycle fill up a garbage bag with items inside a San Francisco Walgreens and leave the store without being stopped.

Walgreens already closed 17 stores in SF due to this kind of nonsense.

Soon to be all?

I read an earlier article today that quoted some of the woketarded responses to this latest brazen theft.

Liberalism is truly a mental illness.

Welcome to California. Welcome to Biden’s America
So, Welcome to Oklahoma where Republicans successfully advanced justice reform and so my local Wal-Mart, the one on the lower income side of town, had to put up one way automatic gates at the entrance and has at least one worker stationed watching to make sure shoplifters aren't leaving with a major item. Interesting how the Wal-Mart on the higher income side of town didn't see fit to put up one way auto gates.

Excellent. Good for that Walmart. Hopefully if they encounter a problem, the other follows suit, because looking at the median income of the town, they both must trend on the lower income side.

It's common sense which the left seem to lack.
LOL, Forget it! You're the one who lacks common sense. This is because it most certainly didn't work in Oklahoma, especially over drugs, as the state became the most highly imprisoned place in the world. As Oklahoma came to find out, there isn't an unlimited amount of willing public tax dollars available to maintain keeping that no. 1 status.

Promote funding education, rather than more and more money for prisons and you might have fewer poor people wanting to indulge in crime.

Unfortunately with blue state residents fleeing the disasters they voted for, they will bring the blue to you. They always recreate the disasters they escaped in their new locales.

Right. About the only job openings are at restaurants and fast foods.
