Let's be clear. If Russia targeted a large portion of our electrical grids, that would be considered an act of war. They won't do that. Even with intermediaries.
Just plan for standard losses of power as you would due to natural disasters.

We all went after the Russians for election year tampering and never proved anything. Have any of our agencies produced any proof the Russians were responsible for the latest hacking or if their government helped the hackers? Considering our track record I would not be surprised if it wasn't a 12-year-old sitting at a computer in some rural US town. I just want to see the evidence to support our claims. I am tired of being spoon-fed snippets of what our government wants us to believe.
Take out a few with a blast of electric and the grid would go out like a domino. Texas has their own grid. Most are interconnected. I learned that a long time ago. Canada grid goes all the way down to Florida. Two others .

Are you talking about EMP?
If you are so worried, get solar and batteries. Get fuel generators. Get a whole house generator. Whatever will give you piece of mind, and allow you to go out and have a good time.
Whatever you are afraid of, probably won't kill you. That which you haven't thought of? Probably will.

It would be bad, but we would overcome it, and there would he hell to pay for Russia....
I am pretty sure we have the capacity to strike back ten fold.
In a crisis, involving the need to be self reliant, most Red States will do much better than any Blue States would do since California and New York would be consumed with riots and massive looting.
