We don't know whether there are or have been Black members.
I can say that one of his spokesmen claimed today that they did and have had Black members.
If this is shown to be true, then it's just been a bunch of outrage over nothing.
It does make me satisfied, and would presumably you too, that 2 RI BLM outfits are complaining.
They do not and they have not, by all reports I have seen. And Senator Whitehouse certainly has never offered any such defense, even though this issue has been publicly known and ongoing for around 20 years now.
Question: are blacks BANNED from this “private beach club” (being black, I can tell you that this isn’t something we typically seek out) and have any blacks been turned down for membership?
I mean it’s RHODE ISLAND!! Black folks make up about 8% of the population. And nearly all live in the Providence area...not exactly a bastion of “private beach clubs.”

Methinks this is much ado about nothing.
funny how that's NEVER the question except when a democrat is involved.
So the media can't even answer the question of whether minorities are allowed to be members or not? I gave the initial reporting/reporters too much credit, evidently.
I'll say that my original post stands IF the club truly does prohibit minority membership. If it simply happens to be "all white", that's a horse of a different color - pun intended.

Again, a club like this can prohibit certain types of people as members, without having that in writing anywhere. So the absence of a written policy that excludes certain types of people from membership does not mean that they do not in effect have such a policy.
It’s shocking to see the DNC sock puppets ignoring or defending this. Not.
How many pages would the C-D thread be if this was a Trump?
Or any Republican Senator.
There would be a virtual tsunami of the absolutely hysterical shrieking, name-calling coverage from the corporate media. And not just for a day or two. It would go on for weeks and months.

They can't even get confirmation if any minorities are members, evidently. Ridiculous.
If you can't tell me that no members are actually minorities, then you also can't tell me it's an "all white" club.
Further, in a state like RI, with such a small black population, a club like this could end up being "all white" without any sort of discrimination going on at all - even in secret.
