It’s based on this. https://www.lcps.org/Page/235180

Because they were becoming unruly and just shouting, they had already made their point on the topic. The 5 member board voted unanimously to end debate on that topic and from what little I saw there were no specifics, did they take issue with any particular course.

Somehow you worked in the protests on the streets, great comparison to a school board meeting.

It was none of what was quoted. One of the topics of the school board meeting was the way the county will treat transgenered students. That's it. Nothing about CRT. Not at all.

Local news, which I don't watch much of and so I really wasn't aware of it, reported on this tonight stating that the topic of transgender rights was to be discussed (how to address students, what restrooms they can use, what sports teams they can play on). Several attendees started yelling over others who were trying to speak, wouldn't wait their turn, it got unruly, one man started flipping people off, so the school board decided to stop before it got more out of control and became a 200-person shouting match. Some didn't like it, refused to leave, resisted leaving, and got arrested. The school board wants to hold another meeting and hear out the people again, but are going to try to find ways to do so without it getting out of control. Maybe that means they will have to just have specific people speak on each side, have them timed, and make sure people don't shout over others while they are having their time. I don't know.

I don't see anything in your link that amounts to CRT, maybe I missed it help me out. It must be pretty blatant for the parents to be that mad.

I know how you feel about wanting to donate anonymously. Given the anti-Israel attitude of the radical left, I want to donate to AIPAC, but then the government will be able to find out that I’m on our ally’s side rather than the Islamic terrorists’ side, and it makes me worry.

Scary that we live in a country where those who deviate from The Official State Position may face consequences.

Though LCPS is a hotbed of CRT disguised as equity, diversity, inclusiveness, this particular board meeting was about transgender and gender identity issues.

What happened last night was a nap compared to the “protests” all last summer - arson, looting, property destruction, assaults, even murder. You seem more upset by conservatives becoming “unruly” and shouting than you do about those BLM thugs.

And it’s quite fair to bring up, given the liberals’ hypocrisy. Leftists will bail out destructive leftist RIOTERS who burn buildings and assault people but condemn conservatives who “shout.”

That’s exactly what happened. Parents are so livid by the CRT hatred for whites being promoted in the public schools, and angered because last month they were punished for objecting to it, that this board meeting spilled over into that.

Believe me, the Loudoun School Board does not want to address CRT. (And one of the leftist Board members is especially vindictive: he advertised for someone to hack into the computers of parents who objected.) They want the parents to shut up and let them brainwash their children.

The left has pushed this so fast, and so far, that there is no pushback, bigtime.
Many people who post here have no knowledge what is taught in their local schools. Much less those across the country.

If you have a problem with kids not learning to read and write find out why and do something about it. Most of the time it is due to large classrooms and incompetent teachers.

Have you attended board meetings, paid the superintendent a visit to ask for smaller classrooms, reading specialist, yada yada.

I really don't care what a teacher has to say about anything because what happened at school today and current events was our dinner table conversation every night at 6:30 not matter what for 20 years. I read all the textbooks and reviewed daily classroom work. That's part of the job of parenting. Same thing happens with my grandkids. And all three will be school teachers. And I also attended board meetings for 35 years. If there was a concerned I went to the principal or the superintendent.

Relying on internet gossip is not as effective as knowing who is doing what in your local schools. Go sit in on the classes where the subject is taught.

Just. The. Opposite. People HAD no idea of the liberal nonsense being pushed, but with remote learning of the last year, parents got a rude awakening.

And what’s this about “finding out why” kids aren’t learning to read and write? We KNOW why. The liberals running the school system are wasting time on anti-white racism, and social justice, and “equity”. NONE of that has a place in school when kids can’t write a sentence or solve a math problem. Schools have deteriorated to liberal indoctrination camps.

Finally, don’t tell me about how you went to the principal or attended school meetings 35 years ago. My parents did that too. Back in those days, schools weren’t a hotbed of radical leftism (although they leaned heavily liberal even then).
