I'm surprised anyone in the news media is reporting anything that makes the royalty look bad. The media is in a wonderful place (for them) where they can report anything they like, be it true or the worst lie, and everyone accepts it as unshakable truth. Why didn't they do what they usually do and say that we are all walking down a path strewn with roses?

My morning paper carried an article about white collar employees resigning.
Lots of that happening.
Lots of people creating their own businesses too. A record number, in fact.
Anyway, per the OPs link, continuing claims are down so that's positive. Still trying to find out which sectors are laying people off, particularly in Pennsylvania which had the highest number of new claims, with everything opening up.

Non seasonally adjusted data shows a drop from 407k to 393k. Due to COVID messing with trends, the headline seasonally adjusted data doesn't mean as much as it would otherwise, and it's worthwhile to consider the non seasonally adjusted # as well.
California numbers still look bad due to the impact of lockdowns.
