I hate Harry Potter books. I can't relate to any of it.

I try to be very reasonable and calm online (for the MOST part, anyway), but there are a few people I have met online that I really vent to. Sometimes it is very difficult for me NOT to get steaming angry at some of the posts I read, and if I told some people on City-Data what I really think of them, I would probably be permanently banned.

Thank goodness for the Ignore list!

It shouldn't be. I don't think more than 20% of the people in this subforum venture out of it to the rest of CD. They come here to battle and that's it.

Never understood the concept of the Ignore function. If someone has something to say to me I want to see it. Ignoring something doesn't make it cease to exist.

Thanks both of you. She's in a better place now pain free.

Take care of yourselves. Diabetes untreated or ignored leads to many other things. None of them good.

I have been wearing glasses since I was 2 1/2 years old and have small indentations in my skull behind my ears to prove it.

I volunteered in wildlife rehab for years and miss it a lot sometimes. I had been volunteering with an animal shelter until the pandemic but it still hasn't resumed its volunteer program.

I’m a news Junkie, most should know that by now. I read close to 50 news articles a day from all over the world - starting at about 5am on average.

Voted Democrat for decades, believe in a woman’s right to choose since I was around for Butcher Abortions, but not any Abortion after 20 weeks. I have many Gay friends (since the 60’s)

& a Lesbian daughter and am strongly in favor of Equal Rights. Marched for Civil Rights in the 60’s and watched the Radicals blow up buildings in the 70’s. Mixed Race family I’m devoted to, and they to me.

Went to work when I was 15, supporting a family of 6. I have zero sympathy for those who whine that it’s just “too hard to work”. Retired from interesting job. Master Bridge Player and avid Bird Watcher. Volunteer for many Organizations

Just your average White Supremacist Irredeemable Racist Insurrectionist in today’s world.
I should mention I love country Western Music, am a very good dancer & an exceptional cook.

I'm a Dark Shadows geek (except for the 2012 Johnny Depp movie), and have attended a half dozen of the Dark Shadows conventions over the past 20-ish years. I own the entire series on DVD, collect the novels that were written in the 60s and 70s, and have been corresponding with two women since 1968 - we were girls then! - when we became "pen pals" through an ad in 16 Magazine.

I'm so sorry. And yes, I agree about the dating scene - scary weird. Or weirdly scary.

The bolded is really neat. It also reminds me of my aunt who was born in England in 1937 and began a pen friend relationship with a girl in Indiana shortly after WWII ended. She came over to the States to visit her brother (my father) about 5-7 years ago and they finally met in person after being pen friend for over 50 years. It made the local paper in the small Indiana town where my aunt's pen friend lived.
