Advertisements

The whole issue of "defund the police" has backfired on every community that was dumb enough to implement it, with increases in crime across the US.

I am wondering, however, what the "thought process" was that assumed reducing the number of police would reduce crime?

Any idiot would know that there would be an increase in crime. However, we are often told by liberals how smart they are compared to conservatives. So why do they do such dumb things that any idiot would know would end in disaster? So now liberal communities are SHOCKED that crime has increased in their communities after such initiatives- no joke- they really didn't see this coming.

It's along the same lines as cutting pipelines and oil exploration and being shocked at higher prices. The Clinton admin started the nonsense that increased US production would have ZERO effect on gas prices. However, Trump proved that the law of supply and demand still exists and gas prices fell with increased domestic production.

Another brilliant example was paying people to stay at home and then being shocked when no one could find any job applicants anywhere.

Do libs/dems ever bounce their insane policies off someone else before implementing them?

Innocent until proven guilty.

If you are not caught committing a crime, you can not be found guilty, therefore you are innocent, and there is "less crime."

Anarchists will always advocate for anarchy. Getting rid of road blocks that may arrest you in your bouts of anarchy will always be on your agenda.

The basic idea with defund the police is simple. Police departments nowadays are dealing with things they are not suited for, as a result you see an increase in bad outcomes, the idea would be to shift some funds to hire qualified people to deal with mental health issues and things of the sort.

See this is the way it works.... "If these poor people doing these things understand how much we care about them and if we are nice to them, then they will be better people and they will stop being bad!"

Please note, the left is saying this about crime in America today, they were saying exactly the same things about terrible state actors too. Its how Biden treats China, It is how the left said we should treat the Soviets. Its what the left said about the Viet Kong. Its what the left said about N. Korea (Shoot its how Clinton behaved toward N.Korea and China). Goofy people have always thought stupid things.

Defunding police does not reduce crime. Directing their funding toward actually reducing crime is what reduces crime.

It's rare for murderers to kill multiple people, so arresting murderers does little to reduce crime (although it does achieve justice). And the crimes police investigate (burglary) are meager compared to the crimes police ignore (wage theft).

The people who write and enforce the laws are worse people than the ones who break the laws.

If I got the defund the police correctly, they were suggesting other agencies may be better equipped for some calls.

In my neighborhood the cops are called to everything from lost dogs and getting kittens out of trees to domestic violence to rape and murder.

I have to agree on stopping the dogs and kitten stuff. And maybe even the domestic disagreements that got out of hand. If he comes home drunk and starts a fight, maybe she does need to shoot him and leave to cops out of it. No point risking them, too.

IDK how people expect drugged, drunk or out of control people should be handled. Just drop a net on them? Sometimes what starts out as an insignificant encounter with the police gets out of control and people get killed. The question is is it the cops job to be judge jury and executioner?

I would like to know how much lawsuits against police department by people who were wrongfully arrested or killed cost the taxpayer annually. I

MO, the cops need better training. We expect far too much of them. My neighbor was shot and killed because he stopped a car for a tail light being out. The driver was wanted and thought that's why the cop stopped him. He just started shooting. That family is without a husband and father to young kids over a missing tail light and a crazed criminal.
