No, all people in China know Japan was defeated by the Allies, epsecially the US. The textbook covered WWII and the Pacific War.
It's true that they emphasized CCP's contribution, but students also learned other things including all the major battles organized by the Nationalist government.

So, where did your false impression of Chinese history class come from?

You just repeat the anti China propaganda (especially those form Epoch Times) like a parrot.
I suggest you go to China to witness the truth. Most media in the US are very biased against China, often intentionally.

Yes, Chinese people in general are very proud of their country. If you talk about young Chinese, they are much more proud of their nation than young Americans do (unfortunately).

I cannot repeat something I have no exposure to.

It is well known that the truth is actively suppressed by the CCP in China. Just like how their population has been suppressed by policies such as the 1 child policy, which has created a demographic nightmare situation for China.

There's nothing wrong with being proud of who you are or where you came from, but no place is perfect. Americans understand this. Some choose to be ashamed of their past, but that's their business. In the USA, you are free to express your disdain for your country... Something that is unthinkable in China, because who wants to be on the wrong side of the CCP? The USSR used gulags to intimidate the population, and it's likely the CCP operates in much the same way. Just look at what they did to that poor doctor (RIP) who tried to warn the world about the CCP virus...

I have no idea what the expression "You are not a fish, how do you know what constitutes the joy of fishes?" means. Perhaps you could clarify?

All I know is it made me think of this:

Quote:
When a trout rising to a fly gets hoooked on a line and finds himself unable to swim about freeely, he begins with a fight which results in struggles and splashes and sometimes an escape. Often, of course, the situation is too tough for him.

In the same way the human being struggles with his environment and with the hooks that catch him.

Sometimes he masters his difficulties; sometimes they are too much for him. His struggles are all that the world sees and it naturally misunderstands them.

It is hard for a free fish to understand what is happening to a hooked one.

But I'm also fluent in English and lived in Europe and America. So what you said is irrelevant.
I think one needs to be able to read Chinese language to understand Chinese culture, as a minimal requirement.

Suppose I don't speak English and claim to be an expert of US issues, would you believe it?

He was talking about a proverb from Laozi, an ancient Chinese philosopher.

I'm an only child myself. My parents certainly wanted to have more children, more or less, but they never felt "suppressed".
In fact, the government educated people that the population of China is too big, and there are not enough resources for people given the condition of China, especially in the cities. So they chose to obey the policy, as a sacrifice for their country.
All kids in China took the "population education" in school too.
And no, I don't think the one child policy is wrong. It might have been better if it allowed two.

You are extremely naive to think all Chinese have the same opinion on everything too. Again, if you can read Chinese I suggest you take a look at Chinese social media.

That "poor doctor" is another lie made in western media. He just posted a message in his friends' chat group "SARS may have appeared again. Don't tell others". However his friends still spread the rumor (which was truly a false rumor), so the authorities found him. He was asked to write a letter, promising not to do it again. He went back to work the next day. No arrest, no jail time, no fine.

3) Ironically, the people who should like China are conservatives. And the people who should hate China are leftists. China is a million times more conservative than the United States.

As a conservative I actually agree with you. There is a lot about these countries to admire. I like their social conservatism. They are far from the culturally degenerate cesspools of sexual liberation, drug use, and the like that the left thinks they are. Even the use of masks, social distancing, and overall polite behavior towards one another could be seen as conservative behavior. They aren't even melting pots. The culture is mostly homogeneous...in fact they have criticisms against them for the way they treated the Uyghurs.

Ive been known to criticize how much they have to work but at least they work...that's why their country is so nice. Ours is going to fall apart because of the amount of red tape, corruption, etc just to get a simple road project done assuming you can find the workers with democrat governor's wanting extended unemployment forever. If you actually look at most well functioning socialist or communist countries they are quite conservative and the populace work hard...I don't think the left would actually like the result.

Most republicans aren't really conservative though...they are still quite liberal. I root for the CCP to be overthrown but doing that would westernize their culture. By in large I'm not a big fan of western culture lately.

haha, I mean in the China war zone. And, you do not point out any error in my Korean war statement. Those are the known facts. You just cannot face the facts Also, the main CCP's contribution in WWII was in guarding the state border of grandpa USSR so that JPN could not attack grandpa. BTW, the 2 battles they involved in were propaganda.

Do you know what 8964 / means? So, you cannot say how could we know the Chinese don't like China government.
