A lot of this looks like "Show me the man and I'll find the crime".
Had Trump remained a real estate investor and not become President and pissed off so many Democrats, as well as the comfortable Establishment Republicans, these investigations would never had happened
We’ll never know because it didn’t happen that way. Your hypothetical scenario of the alternate 2021 is of little value. Let’s stick to reality here shall we?
The exercise has the distinctly foul odor of selective prosecution.
We are in a moment when violent crime is skyrocketing, but Empire State prosecutors are averting their eyes: declining to prosecute radical-left rioters and allowing gangbangers to prey on urban communities under non-enforcement, anti-police policies championed by Democrats. Somehow, though, Vance’s office has time to scorch the earth in hopes of finding something, anything, to pin on Donald Trump. And so far, the prosecutor has come up empty.
After lavishing time and resources on a quest to acquire years of Trump’s financial records — a quest attended by media leaks about supposedly imminent bank fraud, insurance fraud, and tax-fraud charges — Vance is left trying to squeeze out of the CFO the case he apparently can’t make on the documents. And understand, if there were a case here, it would be in the documents. Whatever Donald Trump’s financial records say, Vance has thus far not been able to whip them into a prosecutable case . . . so now he’s trying to get Weisselberg to tell him something that can’t be seen in the black-and-white of the documents. Good luck with that.
Maybe someday, some prosecutorial Ahab will manage to ensnare Moby Trump. For now, though, by turning Allen Weisselberg into the latest Paul Manafort — the sap in whom everyone knows prosecutors would have no interest were it not for his connection to the Big Fish — all Democrats are doing is fueling Trump’s persecution narrative. More importantly, they are angering fair-minded people who can’t help but see a two-tiered society, with its two-tiered justice system, in which Democrats and the radicals with whom they sympathize have immunity, while no infraction by a Republican — and especially, a Trump supporter — is too trivial for a good drawing and quartering.
If what you are saying is true, then I would imagine you support prosecuting almost every liberal politician.
If they commit crimes? 100% yes. Crimes like this should absolutely be prosecuted.
Hey maybe Donald didn’t know what his cfo was doing? It is possible and does happen where a cfo has committed financial fraud without the ceo knowing.
This is not a low level crime as the thread topic states. This is millions in undeclared income and taxes and a pattern to defraud the govt in an ongoing way. I also also am making an educated guess that there are more serious charges to come. Of course it is always and often possible that the ceo had no knowledge and other executives were the drivers.
Do not minimize the seriousness of this. Rich people and companies need to pay their legal fair share and most Americans find is truly disgusting when they don’t. There are enough legal loopholes to take advantage of- there should be zero tolerance for law breakers.
If you get anything free from your company you will be charged with a crime if you don't pay taxes on it. Get a gift card, stay at a hotel, get a free lunch and don't report it, you will be taken away in handcuffs. Especially if the prosecutor hates your guts for watching HATETRUMPTV and infected with communist tactics, a side effect from TDS.

How about those hors d’oeuvres that I ate at the company Christmas party?

There are and have been rules on de-minimis gifts. I had an employer (was part owner) where we had to follow pretty strict rules. Vacation on the bank? It was reported (not de-minimis).
Not sure why some feel Trump Org. should get a pass on violating tax codes.
The perp walk was a bit over done for sure. Son of Sam.had less officers on him then this elderly accountant.
I wonder if the DA Cy Vance will be as visual with his show of force with the next murder case. God knows we have plenty of them in NYC.
Hell, I wonder if they will have the same show for Rev Al and his tax scheme or Cuomo and his sexual abuse cases. Somehow I doubt it because of the D after their name matching Vance's D.
