The number of Americans filing new claims for unemployment benefits fell more than expected last week, while layoffs plunged to a 21-year low in June, suggesting the labor market recovery from the health crisis was gaining traction https://reut.rs/3hs4wVS

......There is no evidence so far of a surge in job searches in the 20 states that have already ended the federal benefits.

As is typical, it takes a Democratic administration to clean up the previous Republican's economic catastrophe. Also as typical, Republicans pull stunts such as ending the UE benefits in hopes of slowing down the recovery in order to make the incumbent Democrat look bad.

Not sure why the assumption is that the GOP is better for the economy since they've decimated it every time they've been in power since the days of Herbert Hoover. That isn't opinion, it's fact.

Not sure that the pandemic can be considered a Republican issue. The economy was tanked due to the shutdowns that were recommended by the cdc.

How is ending UE insurance trying to slow down the economy?
It was done to get people to take jobs and reduce the unemployment rate and allow more businesses to return to pre pandemic level

Republican is responsible for a world wide global pandemic?

As a typical liberal post goes, this one doesn't make any sense and is packed full of lies like they always are.

Ending UE benefits will make people go back to work whereas the feeble incompetent Biden paid people to sit at home and do nothing, just like him. Having people work improves the economy. Nobody needs to make Biden look bad. He does just fine at that all on his own.

Further, the GOP did not decimate the economy. The pandemic did because many states shut down, a fact that is lost on the left, but they're not very bright when it comes to figuring these things out anyway. They just blame Trump because that's all they know how to do.

Under Trump the economy was best it's ever been in decades, as was unemployment. The economy is recovering now because things are opening up, not because of anything the creepy demented Biden did. All he's done is cause sky-high prices and the worst inflation in 30 years. Clown Show Joe is a disaster, no two ways about it.

First of all, that's a lie and no matter how many times Hannity and Tucker want to repeat it, that won't make it true. The first three years of Trump were a continuation of Obama trends, only slightly slower growth thanks to Trump's trade wars. And by that logic, Bush's economy was sure great before the housing collapse. Reagan's was great before the Savings and Loan crisis. Carter was a Democrat who was responsible for a bad economy, I'll give you that.

The fact you agree with Trump on social issues doesn't give him a pass on his abysmal economic record, nor does it give all the other Republicans who have destroyed the economy and ruined lives over the decades.

Trump's economy is the economy that he handed to Biden, which was decimated because of his mismanagement of the pandemic. Trump's economy = the highest unemployment since the Great Depression. Trump's depression made Bush's 2008-2012 recession look mild in comparison.

Things are headed in the right direction but we're still a few years out from being back to 2019.

So you are saying the recovery of the economy is thanks to Trumps roll out of vaccine from Operation Warpspeed?

100% false.

Also, if the vaccine was a Trump miracle like you insist, Republicans wouldn't be so against taking it.

Oh, ok.
-Trump benefited from Obama’s economy for the whole 4 years of Trumps presidency
-But Biden did not benefit from Trumps Ops WarpSpeed?

Makes complete sense….if you have mental illness

Also, are you sure it’s the Republican voters that are reluctant to take the vaccine and not the minority, especially black Americans, who tend to vote blue?
