I am vaccinated and do not wear mask nor will I again wear mask.
only for something I have to do, like the doctor's office. I can't think of a business I'd enter if they required them after I wave my vax card at them. I went in one "food hall" that claimed they required them 2 months ago, and I was starving so I put it on. Inside, I was the only customer wearing one - so never again.
I keep one in my pocket in case I run into Trump supporters. One, most of them are not vaccinated and I don't want to find out if I'm in the 5% the vaccine does not work on. Two, it really, really upsets them to see someone in a mask and that makes me happy. And three, most of them are not smart enough to have learned or practiced basic hygiene and the mask cuts down on the stank of stupid.
I see there is a quiet majority of vaccinated here that mostly keep their mouth shut in the vaccine threads. There was also a quiet majority of people who were willing to wear masks forever. I was always the pro-vaccine, anti-mask person. To each their own. Nobody has wore masks here since basically early May unless you go into a hospital or clinic.

It depends. With the relaxed rules, there is no way to know if someone else has been vaccinated or not. Better to be safe, and wear the mask in a place with a lot of others. We will mask up to go into busy stores, and in restaurants until after we have ordered. If going to Lowe's I will not wear one because it's pretty deserted most days. When walking on a trail we will not wear them but will always carry one just in case. On those rare days when I have to work in the office I will wear it until I am in my own office.
I wear a mask and have no problems with it. When I'm outside, I don't. It's probably 70% mask wearers near me. No one wears a mask when running, walking, etc. Everyone is polite and just moves to the 6ft apart distance.

Just because you are vaccinated doesn't mean you can't still get it and spread it. It just means your symptoms will be less severe. I do wear one to protect the kids under 12 who are vulnerable because it's not just about me.
Exactly .....I'm vaccinated but that does not stop any of us who are from contracting the virus. Vaxed people may take things more seriously, use more precaution and thus lessen their overall risk. We are just not as likely to get sick, need hospitalization or die, but we still may carry it and possibly pass it.
I have family, friends and co workers with high risk immune system. Also a grandchild who eventually may become more at risk as variants, that will certainly proliferate because of low vax rates, start to go after them.
Bottom line, my mask wearing when I feel it appropriate is not a political statement as many may try to make it out. I do it for the people I care about who can't avoid being exposed to me & who may be at risk of getting it or giving it.
I will wear a mask indoors in crowded shopping areas, especially a packed checkout line or in an out door venue if we are shoulder to shoulder. However those of us who are retired have a great advantage as we are able to avoid many of these situations by going at off times of the day and week. But when I'm hiking on trails or pushing the stroller on a sidewalk or in the park I do not wear one as I'm alone and in the open. I do carry it at all times as a precaution. Rarely you get a group passing you running and they are all wheezing and blowing like dolphins. You need to move off the trail or into a driveway a few feet to let them pass. I've found most will also try to give you space when they see a little one. We have expanded our social contacts again, a bit more dining out and shopping but are watching the stats our county heath depts are reporting ( you can get on the email list for this in most places) and the new variants news.
For those who do not want to to get vaccinated or encourage others not to. I truly hope your last conversation with a loved one is not the sound of gasping for breath and crying , dying alone or recovering to learn they have long term issues that impact the length and quality of life that is left. Those stories are yet to surface fully. I personally know of a few.
Until it hits us personally its never real. We want to deny its possible or real, its just human nature.
From the CDC web site ....What We Know
COVID-19 vaccines are effective at preventing COVID-19 disease, especially severe illness and death.
COVID-19 vaccines reduce the risk of people spreading COVID-19. They haven't said eliminate yet. What We’re Still Learning
How effective the vaccines are against variants of the virus that causes COVID-19. Early data show the vaccines may work against some variants but could be less effective against others.
How well the vaccines protect people with weakened immune systems, including people who take immunosuppressive medications.
How long COVID-19 vaccines can protect people.
As we know more, CDC will continue to update our recommendations for both vaccinated and unvaccinated people.
Vaccinated and no mask, but careful where I go. If I go inside a crowded space that's small I'd wear a mask. Places I go are large w/ few people. Half have masks on and half don't. I watch the county positivity rate. If it starts to climb quickly, I might reconsider. Our county has a large percentage vaccinated, too.
I am vaccinated and don't wear a mask anywhere. You're still technically supposed to wear them on the buses and trains here in Chicago, but I don't always do. We've had to wear masks for so long that I'm just tired of it.
