Brandon Tensley wrote a wonderful perspective on how conservatives have become obsessed with an academic study: critical race theory.
This obsession, in his opinion (and I agree), is a symptom of White Panic. White, Christian conservatives are witnessing an increasingly diverse nation that threatens the White, Christian status quo. To be clear, one doesn’t need to be White or Christian to subscribe to the ideology. But by and large, the vast majority who experience White Panic are themselves White and Christian.
In response to this threat, conservatives are abandoning the national conversations that matter to Americans today. Instead of focusing on repairing the economy, renewing our infrastructure, ensuring Americans are healthy and prepared for the pandemics down the road, conservatives have started a media campaign to position CRT as their defining issue. One simply has to look at the number of CRT discussions in conservative media (including this website). Conservatives are using CRT to define an ethno-nationalist agenda to keep this a White, Christian majority country, or at least that is the implied promise if you vote for them.
But America will not be a White, Christian majority country. The demographics are clear. The sooner White, Christian conservatives can accept this, the sooner our country can work together on issues that are truly important to the average American: the economy, healthcare, education debt, infrastructure, the pandemic.

What is inherently good in teaching people that you are a victim or an oppressor? What logical good can come from that.
None. None whatever.
This gaslighting is not going to work, people are waking up to this BS and waking up big time. It's why the media is going into hyperdrive trying to spin it 50 ways to Sunday in order to deflect what it really is all about. The usual talking head idiots like Joy Reid dropping the racist bomb and trying to say it's just white people don't want to study black history, blah blah.

There is no societal or political agreement to this. None whatsoever. Religion is a personal choice in the US. The idea of society being held together by the moral principles of a single religion was explicitly rejected by our nation’s founders.
Nothing triggers the right wing more than demographic displacement.

I'm not triggered nor do I know any who is.
I and the people I associate with are quite confident we'll continue to live as well as we currently do regardless of what intersectional groups are in charge.
It has more to do with a right wing authoritarian capitalist society with a moral glue based on Christianity being necessary to counteract, and far superior than, a left wing authoritarian socialist society with a "moral" "glue" based on divisive identity politics and witch hunts.
The writing on the wall is clear, the form it takes is far from decided.
There are plenty of countries on this planet that are run exactly the way you describe, just by the Koran and not the Bible. I don't think anyone can say that has lead to a positive outcome.
Let's say all gays were forced back into the closet, transgender identity was made a crime, women were forced to become housewives, TV was required to promote Christian values, marijuana was re-criminalized in all 50 states, prayer and creationism were in public schools, etc, how would that improve this country other than the fact it would make evangelicals more comfortable?
Anyone that has read CRT literature knows specifically this is in the very first paragraph of the introductory textbook:

Who? If this was 1985, I would believe you. The Moral Majority and all that. But who is doing this now? Culture is ruled by liberals in 2021. Back then, the right was authoritarian. Now, the authoritarian impulse is coming from the left. It's the left that makes my college-aged daughter recite a dumb script like a puppet: "Hi my name is..... and my pronouns are" If she deviates, she will be branded a transphobe, even though she is accepting and kind and would use whatever pronouns someone asked of her. But she still has to recite the script. Most of the censorship is coming from Big tech, which isn't on the right.
The MAGA movement is the modern iteration of the Moral Majority. Exact same arguments, talking points, and vision for the country, but at least the Moral Majority believed in working within the confines of democracy and legality.
Because white evangelicals won't mind their own business and won't stop trying to use the state to impose their religion on the entire country. As demographic change continues, they are resorting to more and more outrageous strategies to try and do so.
And as usual, you are thinking in the hyperbolic. Because some sect of whackos are "trying to use the state to impose... blah blah blah" you think every Christian is doing that. I could say the exact thing about leftists and I would be FAR more correct than you:
Because leftist liberals won't mind their own business and won't stop trying to use the state to impose their dogma on the entire country.
And a certain, powerful sect of evangelical Christians (mostly white and mostly Baptist, though there are others) believe that an authoritarian state promoting faith and cracking down on behavior seen as sinful by the [Baptist] church is the best way to do this.
As a homosexual yourself, do you think Black Christian churches are in your corner?
