Well there you go. Complete opposite effect to what these chest beaters were hoping for.

I hope all the needless suffering was worth running this inhumane experiment

And in states like Florida where hospitality workers have been in short supply since at least 2019......https://www.sun-sentinel.com/busines...cva-story.html

Or in South Carolina where restaurant owners/manager, hotels, have been complaining about shortages since 2014....seems the pandemic has pushed even more people out of those fields.

The only two categories that showed a greater decrease in searches are for the ones expiring in the next week.

Ending July 3-10 searches are UP 4%

Ending June 26-30 searches are UP 2%

Not opting out early searches are DOWN 2%

Ending June 19 searches are Down 2%

Ending June 12 (this Sunday) searches are Down 3.5%

It appears people aren't waiting until the last minute to look for a job.

Take note - the searches are DOWN for the states NOT OPTING OUT EARLY.

I couldn't find the article at the link you provided so I don't know what detail it provided, but I fail to understand how one can read much into the frequency of job searches. I have a job and I searched today, for example. Plus there are lots of ways to look for work other than online, especially for unskilled jobs.

I found the data his claim was based on and the OP's claim is mostly false which is probably why he hasn't come back to his thread. See post #3.

Yeah, analytics is unlikely to be the posters strong suit but gosh golly their post full of righteous partisanship as they complain about the "chest beaters" means they'll fit right in here.

Hard working folks will never be out of a job.
We had a rough go in the 70's. Many on the
proverbial breadline.

Not me.

Was it because I was smart? Didn't matter.
Was it because I dressed appropriately ? No one cared.
Was it because of my great command of the English Language? Nope.
Was it because I never said no to my Boss when he asked to me to work all crazy hours? Bingo!

Companies work to continuously provide to their customers.
Any disruption (not showing up for work )results in termination.
Be Wise. Work Hard. Retire as early as possible.

Turns out beating people with a stick is not gonna make them take retail and restaurant jobs during covid
