I just don't understand why they can't have separate trans wings in prisons, like separate trans bathrooms or trans sports leagues. There's obviously problems if trans people are forced to use bathrooms or prisons of the sex they are born with. It's not safe for them--like if a trans woman has to use a men's rest room. But there's also issues like this, girls sports, and bathrooms for the biological sexes--fairness and safety issues from the other side. Have people lost the ability to come up with solutions that are a compromise?
The above poster is the reason why we are here, always giving ground, not addressing the root of the problem. The majority of the population is never extreme progressive, the majority of the population is always just giving ground, wanting to be nice, thinking femininely, emotionally, not rationally.
Once we as a society accepted gay legal partnership, the floodgates were opened. The slippery slope idea was real.
I would have to say that it is actually unconstitutional. Remember the "cruel and unusual punishment" thing? This is certainly cruel and definitely unusual. Like giving a pedophile a job at a preschool.
And I'm sure that having MTF in able prisons is cruel and unusual punishment for the MTF. Remember in the OP the article stated that one of the alleged MTF rapists was sexually assaulted in the male penitentiary before being sent to the woman's pen.
As I understand it, Britain and other places figured this out a long time ago. If a male prisoners identify as a female, you give that group of people their own cell block and you don't mix them with male or female prisoners.
Funny thing. Ever notice that there isn't a bunch of female prisoners suddenly identifying as male and demanding to be sent to men's prisons?? I wonder why?
For one thing, it is against their tactics. Huh?
Consider how much easier it is for a woman to disappear from sight. One can get married and change their name, they can change their appearance more easily than men. So if one were a criminal or soon to be an ex criminal, why would they give up or make it harder to use that tactical advantage?
They have in many cases had difficulty functioning in society as trans and fallen into drugs and crime lifestyles.
I have some sympathy for them, especially in certain US cultures that not only hate gay and trans men but quite frequently murder them.
This is the type of men that have led us here. Letting EMOTIONS not logic lead their votes.
Sympathy!
