"One piece of this puzzle that seems to not get much attention is the truly shocking proliferation of guns in the last year, which coincided with this rise in shootings and murder. Now, the causal relationship is not settled by any means. But 2020 was the biggest year for gun sales in American history ever, ever." Hayes claimed.

As the 2nd half of the article says, this is BS

However, a closer look at the study proved to weaken the relationship between these two facts. Firearms expert and founder of firearm news site The Reload, Stephen Gutowski took to Twitter to deconstruct Hayes' argument.

"There are several reasons to believe the gun sales spike is not driving the murder increase. In fact, it seems more likely the exact opposite is true," Gutowski tweeted.
Gutowski also pointed out that the chart Hayes uses as an example actually displays "a gun background check spike."

There is no way in in hell that this idiot can blame legal gun owners and purchasers on the violent crime increase!!!!!!!!!

So he is saying those new gun owners who were blacks the cause of the gun violence

The highest overall firearm sales increase comes from Black men and women, who show a 58.2% increase in purchases during the first six months of 2020 versus the same period last year,” wrote Jim Curcuruto, National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) director of Research and Market Development, in his report according .

Those guns that Obama gave out are still in circulation. Obama never put a tracer on them . Gave them to a bunch of criminals . 2000 guns given under Fast and Furious..

I take it Chris never looked at some of the video of an actual shooting in progress. The perpatrator pursue and/or shoot at the targets with aggression. It's obvious they want them dead. It is that desire to kill and ignorance that doesn't care about collateral damage. That has nothing to with an object that is on the individual, the criminal and the crime they committed.

People that are buying guns Legally are not the problem here and linking them to the rising crime rates is nonsense.

So what is there are now more guns in the hands of citizens. The problem lies in the hand that chooses to pull that trigger with the intent of killing someone.

We have millions of cars on the road driving all over the place and the majority of drivers obey the rules of the road. There are very few that choose to drive drunk or high and still fewer that choose to use their car as a weapon to hurt or kill others but it happens. Should we start banning cars because some idiot got into one drunk and smashed it into a school bus?

The Left holds up the Pulse Nightclub shooting as a double tragedy, first it was a gay club so it was a hate crime and second the shooter used a semi auto rifle. He could have just as easily loaded his vehicle with buckets of gasoline, crashed it into the entrance when the club was letting out and lit a match.

America is a Violent place but taking guns away from the law abiding will only embolden the predators to prey on them.
