I deserve my cut, for the sacrifices my ancestors made to free the slaves.

Yep... they're lucky us whites are as tolerant as we are. They should be thanking us for inventing the vast majority of the technology mankind takes for granted. If you don't like this country, you can always leave. You don't deserve handouts or special treatment. Get off your ass and get a job, and stop breaking laws. This goes for whites too who are on the welfare dole and make irresponsible life choices. Of course they only make these life choices because they know the government will bail them out.

If it was 150 years ago, much less 10,000 years ago, this entitlement mentality would just end up getting you killed. You think life is hard? You don't know what hard is.

You miss the basic point. Your ancestors had the choice to do this, and they were paid, assuming you refer to the union army soldiers.

So while your ancestors had a choice and were paid, Black ancestors had no choice and were not paid.

No union soldier fought to free slaves. You can argue confederate soldiers fought to keep slaves but you can't argue that union soldiers fought to free slaves. That is just revisionist history. The Unions sole purpose for fighting the Civil War was to put down the rebellion and keep the union whole.. period. Nothing more, nothing less.

Paid or not the soldiers that made up the Union Army were doing the right thing and some of them paid for it with their limbs and lives. Why should the ancestors of any of those men that paid such a high price to help free the slaves be made to pay anything today?

The Democrats were behind slavery in the US and they fought a bloody war to keep their slaves.

I say we should make the Democrats pay the reparations. The Democrats are the ones that should be ashamed of their past.

Both sides of the war implemented a policy of draft/conscription, so "choice" cannot be assumed.
Im not sure what real difference it makes if someone got paid in exchange for being forced to leave their family, quit their farm or job, to go fight in a war that they would quite likely get maimed, or die in. Sounds like slavery to me.
Using your own logic I suppose one could say that slaves "got paid" because they received health care, food, room and board in return for their forced labor.

180,000 Black men served in the union army to free themselves. Does the OP know this? He does now.
