I live in Michigan and there is a lot of anti-Ohio stuff, but they have some cool things in their state. In south west Michigan lots of anti Indiana and Illinois hate from the tourists and vacation home owners. I know Yoopers that despise Wisconsin. But it is certainly Ohio overall.
California is the most hated state but Id hate yo leave it.
Especially for a place as humid as Texas or Phoenix. Especially Arizona.
Too much good food, things to do and natural scenery despite our wacky ass politics and issues.
The anti California thing is one of this country’s stupidest phenomena and 90% of the time from what I can tell, the hater has never set foot in California. That’s a big thing here in Arizona. And Arizonans are the last people who should be talking about the wacky politics in another state.
I had a roommate from Wisconsin who used the term “FIBs” to describe tourists from Illinois, particularly Chicago.
The term is applied to all IL residents and nobody actually *hates* other states without having a screw or two loose.
Finding them annoying, sports rivalries etc. are common even within states but hating an entire state is just a reflection upon the hater having their own issues.
