It wouldn't make sense for the party with the majority to walk out. When was the last time Republicans were the minority in the Texas State Legislature?

The Democrats last controlled the Texas House in the 2002 session. The Democrats last controlled both houses in 1996. The Democrats last controlled both houses and the governors mansion in 1994. Before that, it was Democrats all the way in the legislature, and almost always in the Governors mansion.
Please take note that it was not until Bill Clinton was elected and had held office that Republicans took control of the government in the state of Texas.
I am not sure why they did what they did and if it was legal or not, the opticics of it are not good. That said I was a masker until I got back from my trip where I needed to wear a mask and I really haven't warn one. I'm Vaxed and it feels good to not have my glasses fog up. If I didn't vax,Vax, would still wear a mask though I may very likely get one due to the Delta variant.
The democrats left the session (or abandoned it....) to leave the republican majority without a quorom to hold the vote.
They had the votes to pass their measure w/out democrats. Their absence prevents the vote from being held.
I heard Gov Abott has instructed the Sgt At Arms to arrest each and every one of the democrats once they return to Texas soil and bring them to the chamber forthwith.
The democrats are disgusting. This is not governance. Still getting paid, private jet, no masks, drinking beer and going to Washingto to sing....while everyday Americans get back to work and try to dig their way out of the aftermath of this pandemic.
Other States Look To Texas For Advice On How To Get Democrats To Leave
Made my day!
snip..
Quote:
U.S.—In a brilliant move, Governor Greg Abbott has tricked dozens of Democrat legislators into leaving Texas. This is leading other governors across the country to ask Texas for advice on how they can get Democrats to leave their states as well.
"Arizona is a beautiful state," said Governor Doug Ducey, "but it has one problem: it's full of Democrats. Is there some way we can just get them to—I dunno—leave? Why can't they live in California or Cuba, or somewhere they'll fit in better?"
The governor of Georgia has also stated he will be flying to Texas to learn all of Governor Abbott's secrets to making Democrats go somewhere else.
At the time of publishing, 32 other states have announced comprehensive "make the Democrat politicians go somewhere else" plans, which they hope to have fully implemented by the end of this year.

What a bunch of ******* partisan losers.
They (all politicians ) should be docked pay unless in the hospital or family emergency, if they don’t show up to a important vote.
