No it did not. It mentioned one person who couldn't get permanent residency in the U.S. being forced to move to Canada. Wages for engineers and high end managers are much, much lower in Toronto and Vancouver than they are in New York and Seattle. Moreover, opportunities are far more limited because per capita venture capital in Canada is much lower than in the U.S.. This is also a boosterish CBC article, trust me, I've worked to get engineers out of Vancouver to SF and no one who can move to the US passes up the chance.

Why would an American need to know much about Canada? It's far less important than so many other countries and is really just the 51st state. Britain awkwardly glued together some loyalists with French speakers and it has no identity, just an anti-identity re: America.

Well, the irony is you stating no American needs to know about an insignificant country like Canada but obsessively posting an inordinate amount of proven nonsense about the country in multiple threads about Canada generated by your fellow Americans. .

They seem proud of their ignorance.

It may that poster is like a little school child who has a crush on another. Instead of being nice, they hit them and run away.

Their constant belittling of Canada is childish, uniformed, and has gotten boring.

Your infatuation with America and constant need to make smug posts that ignore reality has gotten tired and boring. Posting garbage CBC articles about Canada here, and not in the Canada forum where they belong is like a little child calling out for attention from its parents. That board could use the traffic, post there next time, your "country" is a joke.

Stop crying because America doesn't give you enough attention. Mexico is far more relevant to America's present and future than this sad attempt to make a "country" out of a random collection of people who love having the inbred royals as their head of state and are stuck with some French people who want nothing to do with the royalists and always want to secede.

As I've been saying, take it to the Canadian board. Your cries for attention here are like someone who interrupts inappropriately while someone else gives a presentation. We don't care what goes on in Canada, and there's another forum for you discuss your "country's" low GDP, low wages, lack of identity, etc.

The quintessential irony just gets better and better. Here you are in a thread in the P&OC section with Canada in the title, started by an American, incessantly posting silly stuff about Canada while all the time suggesting you 'couldn't care less' and upping the ante stating it is Canadians "crying" over not being paid attention to.

We didn't bring it here - one of your 'couldn't care less' confreres did.

You're a conflicted wee lad, aren't you?

No need to apologize, you don't owe Canadians anything. They can be some of the nicest people around when you meet them one on one, but right below the surface many of them are pompous jackasses. That's why internet Canadians are some of the most condescending prigs you'll ever come across, almost without exception. All that niceness is a veneer and they certainly have no problem looking down their noses at Americans, so don't feel like you have to treat them with kid gloves.

Really? Gosh, you could have fooled me. If you all don't care then why do Americans continually start threads about Canada in the P&OC forum?

If you don't care then why are you personally so obsessed with Canada that you can't stop yourself from posting dozens of replies spewing tons of senseless verbal diarrhea and lies about Canada? Your own posting history of so many posts about Canada belies what you say about not caring about Canada.
