Meanwhile, the sane among us pay no attention.
Wait, you think Nikole Hannah-Jones is a crackpot to the left?

The NY Times publishes volumes of her work.

The NY Times literally sells merchandise including T Shirts of her work.

Howard University, which is very reputable, has given her a position as a tenured professor.

My school used her work as part of its "diversity and inclusion" training.

Leftists have made the 1619 Project a top seller on Amazon.

Nikole Hannah-Jones is not a crackpot of the left, she is a hero of the left and she says the US needs to change our schools' teachings to promote a Cuban style revolution in the US, because she thinks Cuba offers a better life and more equity.

P.S. you didn't vote in the poll. Do you think she is partially correct on the US needing to change to resemble Cuba?

Maybe she should write a book on why the Democrat party has screwed over the primarily black cities of Detroit, Baltimore, DC, Chicago, and why black people are killing each other in those cities without the help of one Evil White Republican

I wonder if her 1619 Project is designed to help put us on a Cuban path.

It’s not about equality with these leftists. It is about equal outcomes. What they don’t understand is that some form of hierarchy is natural and necessary. Hierarchies exist everywhere in nature. The US constitution guarantees everyone equal freedom to work to reach their max potential - that does not mean equality of outcomes. It is ludicrous to think a society can flourish any other way especially with equal outcomes. It just purely goes against nature and evolutionary theory if you believe in that.

I'm still fascinated with the Cuban 'Revolution'(?), why it was promoted here in America and allowed to happen to begin with - totally unnecessary. End result? Standard of living collapsed, but they did produce alot of doctors who were paid less than taxi drivers. Oh, and a 'coterie' of criminals hiding behind the 'equity' falsehood, who run the place.

All of those antique cars rigged to pieces and still running? They were abandoned by the original owners who fled Cuba - Castro said all property, including cars, belonged to the state. After a certain date, people could only leave with what they could pack in a suitcase. Alot of middle class, and upper middle class families lost everything.

***************************

Of current interest, Tarara is/was a middle class - upper middle class gated, 'planned community' built by an American Developer Sylvester Webster beginning in the late 1940s, east of Havana, on the ocean. The development contained nice homes (many with pools), sidewalks, paved streets, schools, shopping center, amusement park, marina, restaurants, professional offices, water - sewer plants, etc. About 525 single family homes were completed when the Cuban 'malfunction' happened.

Look on Youtube for pre revolution Cuban TV commercials and ads for Tarara will be found.

***************************

Many residents saw Castro for who he was, sold out and left before his arrival. Many stayed, waiting to see what Castro would actually do. These people (mostly Americans) lost everything except for what they could pack into a suitcase. Houses full of furnishings, cars, personal possessions left behind after having been 'nationalized' by Castro. This travesty repeated itself all over Cuba - many nice middle class neighborhoods and high end developments abandoned.

Most interesting is (as of 2019) there were still 17 original families (or descendants) of the 'pre revolution' Tarara development that still live there - their stories would be priceless.

Today, Tarara resembles a 'ghost town' with many homes and streets completely abandoned, overgrown and homes stripped of materials. Some houses are still occupied and maintained and some more were rehabilitated as rentals. It's estimated that about half(?) of the structures are habitable. Just a small sample of the remaining habitable homes/areas in Tarara:

Abandoned areas:

**********************************

For the descendants of those 'Americans'(?) who financed and directed the Bolshevik Revolution, their 'wet dream' was to turn the balance of the Western hemisphere into one giant 'Socialist Cuba'. They haven't given up yet, as present developments continue to unfold.

Be more like Cuba?
So she wants Americans to make about $80 a month, the average pay of Cuban workers?

No thanks.
Democrats and leftists in general only have terrible proposals to offer -- proposals that will reduce liberty, increase poverty, and lead to greater misery.

This applies to all leftists in America who favor socialism or communism.
They should live by their words and move to an actual socialist or communist nation, like Cuba, Venezuela, North Korea, etc.

Still waiting for the Hollywood left to move out of the USA when Bush won in 2000.
