The Senate Republicans alone can't convict, but a number of Democrat Senators might join in for other reasons, and there will be 67 votes.
The Democrats might want to fast-track Kamala Harris to the Presidency in 2023, so that they can ensure as a Party, they put in the first woman of color as the President. Otherwise there is a possibility that the Republicans nominate Nikki Haley and she wins the election, and Republicans are the first to do so.
