I don't know about hate crime (the attacker has a history of misdemeanor offenses including battery), and as always, we don't see what happened prior.
BUT, if any person, man or woman, 'mentally ill' or not, punches my child in the throat, that person is going to get handled properly in the same manner back.
A woman who reportedly struck a 6-year-old Korean American boy in the neck while yelling the word "China" near an upscale shopping mall in Las Vegas has been arrested and is being held on $3,000 bail.
Shelly Hill is in police custody for battery, hate and bias crime charges, Clark County Detention Center said, according to independent news service AsAmNews Sunday.
A video of Hill yelling at the boy's family over the Fourth of July weekend as they were strolling near Shops at Crystals on the Strip went viral last week. The boy's mother, who remains unidentified, but goes by her TikTok handle @uhmmajo, recorded the video.
She looks mentally ill. We used to have a mental health system in this country (a real one) but liberals said that was cruel so now they are dumped into the communities and on the streets, where they sometimes cause chaos like this. Hopefully, she receives some treatment. Not sure if prison time will teach her anything, but at least there are resources and medical/mental health staff in the prison system that can help treat whatever her problem is.
Yes, I think that she definitely has some serious mental health problems, but being let out of a $3,000 bail -- really? She should have been put in some kind of psychiatric hold and if found sane, the bail should have been much higher.
Hitting a six-year-old Asian child in the throat receives a slap on the wrist, but setting a pride flag (or any flag) is worth a 16-year prison sentence? Where is the justification for THAT? Unbelievable!

Why is the boy's mother videoing this? She should have been focused on comforting her son, checking to see if he needed medical help, and getting him away from this violent woman.

The videotaping was during the woman's verbal abuse, before she attacked the son. There is no video of the boy being hit or anything after that.
Agreed. Put that violent woman away. She deserved hard time for hitting a child.
Yeah, whatever the proper location for her is I will leave up to the courts...but it should have bars around it.
