Bingo. Republicans would need 50 years to counter the 50 years of Democratic governing and destruction in Baltimore.

I would love for liberals to explain how CRT is supposed to boost inner city test scores.

Plus, can you imagine all the hate that would be spewed at him/her by the media and activists groups? They would rather keep those in poverty in poverty than actually give an “outsider” a chance.

It is beyond merely poor in many situations. Many children are abused In many ways by family members or mom’s latest boyfriend. The trauma these kids go though is unspeakable. Unfortunately, instead of addressing the seriousness of these issues, they would rather blame white people for everything.

All of us on city-data (or most of us) know what needs to be done.

And we also know why it isn't going to get done, and who benefits by it not getting done.

Anyone want to call me a racist?

The GPA for many would quickly shoot up to 4.0.
That is liking teaching them how to breathe. Some skills you just have at birth.

Time to clean house. Either just close down the entire school system and forget it, or fire every administrator and teacher, replacing them with someone who can do the job. That kind of performance would not be tolerated in any other industry. For instance, in a manufacturing plant... you consistently get 41% of your task done incorrectly, you are looking for a new job.

And the Republicans have done WHAT to correct what is allegedly all the Democrats' fault? Or is education just not as important as limiting voting rights etc.?

Tell us exactly a Republican is suppose to help in a Democratic run state, city or local government? You can’t keep throwing money to fix the problem.

Actually, I had interpreted 'poor' in the environmentally qualitative sense, vs the financially quantitative, thus it seems to me that the two of you are generally aligned.

The article mentioned the 41% was a double of the previous year. It was attributed to the pandemic. Not sure why there are comments here about defunding the school systems.
