you go to 3 different worlds from the Harbor to get to Johns Hopkins. Decent, re-urbanization at the harbor, squalor and boarded up row houses for blocks on end, then you pop out at the suburban nature of Hopkins. And Hopkins will spend time telling you how they keep students safe/away from the world a mere 4 blocks away.

Of course, JH also planned on getting their own police force, specifically because of encroaching crime activity. The woke crowd went nuts and locked themselves inside an Admin building or library in protest.

We crossed it off the list.

and it begs the simple question - if folks on the right and the left are actually in agreement on something so obvious, then why aren't we doing anything about it?

Just more blacks that will be dependent on the government because they are unable to function in society!

Honestly, I don’t think white people are much of a thought for those folks. People like that are focused on themselves alone. So much that their children placed in these positions.

Various reasons but many don’t actually care as much as they claim. It’s just something to rant about. As I always say, opposite sides of the same coin.

Exactly. There would be mass riots and looting if anyone besides a Democrat was elected.

Better to just maintain the status quo and hope Biden approves reparations.

Because it’s racist.

First thing you have to do is stop the crime, and since criminals don’t really care about that, you must bring back stop and frisk. You have no choice.

Now just imagine the riots that would happen if you brought that back. So Democrats have elected to just do nothing and blame Trump.

if you read the entire article, you'd also read about the Black man who ran for City Council and what he thinks about it.

You'd also see a link to this, which was discussed at length when it came out in March:

In his four years at Augusta Fells, France’s son earned a GPA of 0.13. He only passed three classes, but his transcripts show his class rank is 62 out of 120. This means, nearly half his classmates, 58 of them, have a 0.13 grade point average or lower.
let that sink in for a minute, if you don't read the entire article to hear about his promotions to higher grades and next-level classes despite failing (an F) in entry-level classes.

if you look into the Baltimore school system, you'll see they took a horrible and corrupt Black principal from one school and shoved her in to this kid's even worse school. A job for which she earns well over $100K

What can be done? Some of the parents blame teachers for things that are actually their responsibility. They think teachers should fix any issues with the kids, not them. If kids are removed from a classroom for disruptive behavior, the parents suddenly know where the school is and go there to complain. So those disruptive kids are left in the classroom and nobody learns anything. It's basically become a babysitting job at that point. Administration should separate the kids and put all the problem children in one classroom, but they have no backbone.

And I can't speak for Baltimore but I do know many of the schools in the roughest areas of Chicago have cut busing and parents won't let their kids walk to school because it's too dangerous. That's the only part that can change but the onus is on the city.

You cannot go into homes and convince people to get involved, to take more accountability for their child's behavior, or to ask them to stress the importance of education to their children. Even when schools ask parents to attend meetings so the teachers can impress upon them these things - few people show up. People either care, or they don't.
