It takes a certain mindset to become a government bureaucrat. You have to believe that large governments and large bureaucracies are your ticket to security and power, and you must believe that people who do not see it your way are simply stupid.
In other words, those people are security seekers; they position themselves in opposition to opportunity seekers.
Democrats and bureaucrats are security seekers. Republicans are opportunity seekers and are far more likely to serve a few terms in politics and move on. A Democrat, once elected or accepted for government employment, will settle in and simply wait for his retirement date. The larger the government becomes, the more it will be controlled by those who look down their noses at everyone unlike them.
