If YOU have the vaccine, you have nothing to worry about...right?
Who is going to pay when all these people get sick? It all comes back on you and me, in the form of higher taxes, higher health insurance costs, and possibly having reinstated restrictions like capacity limits, travel bans, masks, etc.
The big problem with those who are now running to get vaccines is they waited too long. It takes five weeks to get antibodies and maybe even longer to develop cellular immunity. The delta is growing exponentially. Already we 60K new cases per day in the US. It is growing like a California wildfire. It will be much faster and more widespread in the US where we are doing little in the way of masking and distancing compared to the UK. We will see the adage "he who hesitates is lost" play out in untold misery among those who failed to act in time.

It isn't just about yourself.
Maybe Biden*, or Pelosi, can stop the check for the gender studies, or one of the equally absurd tax-payer funded give-aways?

I was thinking about that. I expect as the cases keep rising exponentially lots of people will run out and get jabbed. But they are too late.
People who are newly diagnosed can save themselves from severe Covid.
This treatment is available to anyone, vaccinated or unvaccinated.
Edward-Elmhurst Health administered 1,010 coronavirus antibody infusions leading up to early June 2021. Pinsky said just .1 percent of patients who received the mAb treatment were hospitalized for COVID-19 after the treatment.
Data from Edward-Elmhurst Health shows that coronavirus patients who did not receive the antibody treatment were 20 times more likely to be hospitalized or head back to the emergency room than those who had received mAb treatment.
Even Steven Doucey, Sean Hanity and Fox News are now pushing hard for people to get vaccinated. It wasn't all that long ago they made it almost like it was a patriotic thing not to get the vaccine. So if they've come around to another way of thinking, then maybe there really is something to it and they're covering their rear ends.

No they are not too late. Get it and live carefully for three weeks.
The vaccine became 90% effective 21 days after the first shot in a two-dose regimen, said British researchers who looked at data from Israel, where the vaccine has been rolled out to a large portion of the population.

Unfortunately, that was for previous recipe variants. The current dominant delta strain has less than 40% efficacy after the first dose and needs the full two doses and 5-6 weeks for a more reliable protection level.
