Democrats refuse to acknowledge the real problem but instead blame boogeymen like guns and white oppression, so until we acknowledge the real problem nothing will be done.

The Dems spent so much time and energy fighting anti-crime measures during the 2020 election, I don't see how they can do an about face in 2022. We need stop and frisk, stricter policing, and whatever else actually works. Tired of their fantasies about guns, white supremacists, and other fairy tales.
The reality of the matter is that the culture of violence has been allowed to foster in cities like Philadelphia for so long that nothing short of implementing draconian policies and a cultural revolution/reform will be able to reverse this seemingly perpetual cycle in a matter of a few years. We look to cities like Singapore, Tokyo, Oslo, Montreal as to what big cities could be and wanting American big cities to be more like them when it comes murder rates, but at the same time we don't want to mimic the culture and policies that enabled those cities to have their next to nothing murder rates. It just doesn't work that way. Philly can have a "good" year in the following year, but then something else happens that causes civil unrest and its back to square one. This soft way policing is not working, and a city of Philly's size shouldn't be having 300+ murders annually, let alone in 7 months. Looking across the borders, Montreal has only 11 murders with over 1.7 million people living in the city proper and it averages around 20-25 per year. The gap between Philly in Montreal is surreal.
Montreal is actually at 12 now but note the reference population is actually 2.1 million.
Montreal city police patrols the entire island of Montreal, which includes the city proper and a couple of adjacent smaller municipalities that are not part of the city proper.
