There are clinical trials in the works for a C-diff vaccine right now. I would hope any healthcare worker who is routinely exposed to this bacteria will take the vaccine if it becomes available, don't you? It would seem silly for them to refuse it.

Where was the Posters concerned from the beginning?
Well...we didn't have a vaccine at the beginning so while many of us were concerned there was nothing to be done. But now we do have a vaccine. NOW we are concerned for healthcare workers who have to take care of patients who obviously DON'T care about their health.

90% of them are unvaccinated. In science and medicine, that is NOT "all".

And how the heck are they "younger" if 97% are over 60?
And there's this:

Of the 205 currently at Jackson’s COVID floor, 185 of them are unvaccinated. While 20 were vaccinated, 15 of them are immunocompromised. “There are many Immunocompromised,” he said. “We have here a large transplant program, so most of these patients are kidney transplant, lung transplant and some patients with obesity and hypertension.”

They are talking about unvaccinated people in a transplant ward, people who are also immunocompromised, and the obese and those with hypertension.

Any number regarding the walk ups who came to the hospital SPECIFICALLY because they were sick with COVID and were not patients first? No? They don't make that distinction.

Frankly, I'd be wondering what the heck is going on at the hospital. Seems like their sanitary protocols are way off.

Yeah I caught that stat re "younger." Only 6 were younger than 60. Younger my a--.

The facts matter. Not the headlines. But no mindless follower will understand that.

How many were already in the hospital for other issues when they were diagnosed with COVID?

Let me know.

A serious spit in the eyes of healthcare professionals.

If not for the ACA, it’s likely many insurers would exempt/ deny Covid claims. Pre ACA, Florida had one of the loosest state insurance regulations and a proliferation of junk plans sold to ignorant consumers as healthcare plans.

If you don't believe the COVID numbers why don't you do the research and prove it to us.

Good for you for being vaccinated!
yes, they noted in FL that some of the spread was likely illegals.

you noted that some CD posters are anti-vaxx "can't make me".

And then made the leap to "so you're saying they're illegal?"

I mean, it wasn't a world-record long jump, but you could get a scholarship out of it. I thought it was funny, thus the "haha"

Can anyone tell me:

1. How many of the cases are in unvaccinated or vaccinated?
2. How many of the people IN the hospital were brought to the hospital SOLELY because of COVID (in other words... they didn't get in a car accident, have a broken leg, and then test positive for COVID under mandatory testing order)?

Should be SUPER simple stats to get right? Would clear it all up for everyone, right? Instead 'clearly' 'based on what we've seen' 'chances' 'probably way less than 1%."

Didn't see ONE FACT in there.
Try google.

I'm not joking. Your comment here implies that working in a health care environment didn't have any risk for catching communicable illnesses prior to covid.

You also directly state that vaccinations are some kind of magic pill or something, keeping health care workers from having to face any risk from covid. You're completely disregarding the real world efficacy - and risks - of these things.

Like I said, perspective has gone completely out the window. This is the effect that a sustained campaign of fear porn & propaganda has on a society. I thought we were smarter than this, but apparently I overestimated the ability of the average person to recognize when they're being BS'd.
There is a world of difference in exposing yourself to risk that cannot be avoided and risk that could have been avoided.

I'm not lacking perspective. Sounds like you are projecting.

I also never said that the vaccine eliminated all risk....

I am one of these Healthcare Workers. And you are saying this now - Covid has been here for how long now?

I've dealt with Covid from the start. Dealing with Covid Pt's using the same PPE wear when it first hit, because we didn't have enough supplies. You wear a PAPR, N95's for 12-15 hours. Then You can worry about US.
Yes, I am saying it now because this is really the first time that cases have peaked when they could have been mostly prevented by vaccines.

As for wearing an N95, I cant unless I order some because I gave the box I had to ICU nurses in the beginning of the pandemic.

As for what I will worry about, that is not up to you. Hospitals are part of the community and the health of my local hosptial is a large part of the quality of life in my community. I do not want the local hospital and/or ICU overrun with Covid cases that could have been prevented by vaccine.
