Over the decades, the city has paid out $ billions to settle claims of police misconduct, use of force and deadly force.

Lightfoot was previously in charge of a Review Board that made recommendations to address claims of Police Misconduct.

This included recommendations made by the DOJ upon conclusion of a review of decades of police misconduct claims.

She ran on a platform of increasing Police Accountability.

She vigorously opposes the “ defund the police” thing as well as reduced bail.

No matter who was mayor, Trump would lose in Chicago. Lightfoot did not need to lift a finger.
I agree, Trump wasn't going to win anything in Chicago.

The Dems have been enabling and sheltering the worst police forces in the country for a long long time and then cast themselves as the ally of BLM. Hilarious.

It's ending predictably, just like 2009 and the death of the anti-war movement as liberals lose their outrage and cease paying attention now that the political winds have shifted.

That’s correct. Democrats have owned the black vote for 5 decades.

We blacks would rather see our communities turned into daily Taliban war zones than give other political parties a chance to try something different.

So basically nothing will change for the foreseeable future until Democrats get tired of blacks dying. Not even Obama gave a damn about black violence in 8 years of office, and he was a community organizer in Chicago.

Democratic cities like Chicago have proven one thing: democrats with guns are violent and dangerous whereas republicans with guns are responsible law abiding citizens that respect gun safety.
