Nobody is having their constitutional rights violated in this situation. They have been charged, arrested, and awaiting trial. This is how our system works for everyone. You’re the one expecting special treatment for your political allies.
You skipped a step. Most criminals get out on bail. These folks are being held without bail, although I think they may be releasing some on bail now.
If the Dems like you then playing stupid games comes with a Get Out of Jail Free card. If they don't like you, then heaven help you.
If Democrats were this serious about the Far Left doing all the same kinds of things on a massively bigger scale, then this wouldn't stink to high heaven. As long as we live in a world of, "It's only okay when we do it!" then only punishing Jan 6th rioters is just political theater, and nothing about justice.
Which "Dems" are keeping these folks in prison, exactly?
The same people who would argue for the legal rights of murderers and armed robbers would deny the rights of people charged with trespassing on Capital grounds. The same people who would donate money to bail out people who were rioting and looting in our cities all summer would see these trespassers locked up with the key thrown away and without due process. We hear a lot of preaching about "consequences" but they seem to be an arbitrary thing.
Just because someone breaks the law, doesn't mean the government can then do the same.
Are you so blinded by hatred and group think that you don't understand the danger of abandoning the law, no matter what the crime is?
I'm shocked you don't so clearly see that.
Must be another Democrat cult member.
If a large mob breaks into your house by smashing windows and breaking down doors, and they fight the police who are attempting to protect your house, and beat them and injure them and so thoroughly that they get past them, then go in and ransack your house, I'm sure you would say, oh, please, Mr. Prosecutor, don't prosecute them. They did nothing wrong. And prosecuting them would be breaking the law. (Yeah, that's actually your argument. Sounds stupid when it's spelled out like that, doesn't it?)
Unlike you, I'm not shocked that you believe these criminals should not be prosecuted. As long as they are criminals carrying out the actions you want them to, they need to be left alone.
Sorry, ain't going to happen. They did the crime. Now they will suffer the consequences.
Jan 6 protesters being held in indefinite pre-trial detention in DC for as little as “trespassing” into the Capitol building have reportedly been placed on lockdown in retaliation for a Fox News show on Sunday where Mark Levin, Julie Kelly and Senator Ron Johnson exposed how they’re being tortured, beaten, racially abused and locked in solitary confinement.
It appears MOST of the offenders in the Jan 6 insurrection- 70% - compared to 25% of other unrelated federal offenders, are offered bail and are released waiting trial.
So really, they're being treated QUITE mercifully.
Unlike you, I'm not shocked that you believe these criminals should not be prosecuted.
Never said that.
The only people who think crimes shouldn't be prosecuted are the Democrats who constantly release violent criminals into their communities right after they are captured.
Nuance really isn't your thing, huh?
Keep believing what you're told, like a good corporate media consumer.
