Available evidence indicates the latter.

Get him out of office while you have the chance.

Does Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) intend to do what his constituents want? Or ram his own agenda down their throats?

How close to the election are we?

Answering this will govern how to answer the question.

One month.

How much do we want to get him out of office before he can force even more of his goofy agenda on us?

Answering this will govern how to answer the question.

Anyone who has lived in California for the last year(or since he got elected) knows the answer to that question.

When he thinks he is safe..he does what he wants. When he sees the threat he does what he thinks the constituents want, and when that fails figures he could send some money out from the budget "surplus".

How good is he at realizing when he is not safe? Because he isn't.

How good is he at figuring out what the constituents want? Because he pretty much has never done it.

Newsom tries to say the recall is a Republican effort and that it's just party politics. He is still not recognizing his failures.

Newsom has been found guilty in court of abuse of power. There is a permanent injunction against him to prevent him from unilaterally making or changing state law. After that ruling he still claims the recall is party politics? California is securely blue. No, it's not because he's a Democrat, it's him.

As far as the recall is concerned, I commend to him the words of a famous speaker, some years ago:

"The door is wide open now. It's gonna happen... whether you like it or not!"

IF Newsom is recalled, there will still be a D governing California.

Newsolini is a garbage Governor. He's made COVID policy out of spite, not science. When he re-closed the beaches last year it was like someone dared to cross him, he couldn't care less that the science didn't support it.
