This thread is lacking some common sense with some of the responses here. If your almighty vaccine works so well what do you care? You could be the only person vaccinated in the entire earth and you’re protected, right? Why would it matter? Just go about your own business. You’re vaccinated. You’re safe............ Oh but wait a minute, I almost forgot. The vaccines are failing at an alarming rate. And then about 60 days it’s estimated that will be rendered basically useless. And some studies coming out of Europe may in fact find that you’re more susceptible to the variance if you’ve been vaccinated. Oh I almost forgot about that part.
Well that's not great. But we still need to protect the unvaccinated, I suppose.

Psst... in case you haven't figured it out yet, the target audience for the latest round of COVID alarmism is not the unvaccinated -- it's YOU. "The Unvaccinated" is just the most recent excuse to keep exercising control over all of us. As long as enough of us keep complying, they'll just keep moving the goalposts. If you want it to stop, stop complying.
IN Arizona the governor made it against the law to wear masks in school. You can imagine what the case counts and illness will be a month from now if the present trajectory continues. These govs never expected covid to come back like it did/will. We will see how they react.
I don't really think it matters because kids don't wear masks in sports and they don't wear masks at play dates and they don't wear masks in the playground and they don't wear masks when they're wrestling each other and they don't wear masks when they're just being kids.
Also recommended all teachers and kids in schools where masks even if vaccinated. How can it be healthy for kids to wear masks 8 hours a day everyday? I would think it would weaken their immune system. You need to be exposed to many things so you eventually build an immunity. Like kids who get strep throat a lot. You eventually develop a resistance to it and rarely get it as an adult.
Our area of SWFL had in class learning all last year requiring masks be worn at all times with the exception of during lunch with social distancing.. No lockers, so backpacks were carried class to class and each desk had a plastic shield.
We have grandchildren in elementary and middle school. They were so happy to be back in school after being home with virtual classrooms the prior spring. Masks were not a big deal snd I never heard any complaints picking them up from school.
The younger one had Covid and the older one is vaccinated now. School policy for masks this year is pupil choice. If there is a positive case in the classroom, unvaccinated students will have to quarantine while vaccinated will not. Our county had high Covid rates before school started last year and the school opening was delayed for two weeks. Whether the Delta variant changes the mask policy remains to be seen. School starts 8/10.

You're probably right. It's too late now. Based on what we are seeing in other countries, It is going to rip through the schools this fall and there is little that can be done about it.

It might help to close the southern border?
