You will recall that the Trumpers admonished the critics not to hang on every word when Trump spoke but to absorb the essence of what he had to say. The words and little quirks and stumbles were of no importance. Somehow that notion has totally disappeared and if Biden stammers or has to pause it becomes a major news bulletin in Trump-land (AKA C-D's P&OC forum).

I honestly don't remember Bush or Obama having these kind of issues. Trump did struggle at times, but not as bad as Biden.
It's okay if your grandpa in the retirement home sometimes has trouble speaking. But please, let's not lower the bar that far for the President of the USA

Always remember out there in the world is a child with a stripper for a mother, a crackhead for a father, and her grandfather is the senile president of the United States.

I think Biden is an embarrassment to the US and shows our nation as weak.

Not acceptable. Questions are for learning information. Biden answers a yes or a no without giving an explanation, thats not what the reporters are asking a question for.

Unless its a matter of USA security, Biden should give a thoughtful answer. he should not be allowed to hide and skate so that we dont know whats going on.

reporters need to learn how to handle his non-answers. by asking him a follow up and making him answer.

but then again Biden has a bunch of staff that shoo out reporters, and Biden walks away, so thats another bad tactic.

The fact is if he's demented people will step in and run the government in the direction Biden voters want. Anyone beats another Trump term.
Missouri once elected a dead man for Senator and Edith Wilson was the first woman President.

It’s amazing how fast members here have forgotten Trump’s version of answering questions, his constant verbal diarrhea, his incoherent rambling, his repetitiveness, his outrageous statements that seemingly came from no where, his constant lies, and so on. He made a complete a55 out of himself almost every time he opened his mouth, suggesting the dumbest of ideas like wondering if surface disinfectants could be used in the lungs “like a cleaning,” or raving to thousands of boy scouts how badly he drubbed Hillary and reminding them how red the map was on election night. The list could go on for pages and I know many Americans winced whenever he spoke or at least wondered what he would say this time to make himself look stupid.

I actually think of Joe’s gaffes as a win for Trump supporters. When it happens, they can fondly remember how much better their guy was at making gaffes. He was, some say, the kind of gaffes. Many people are saying no one has ever made the number of gaffes he did, and a source named John Barron quotes Trump as saying “Biden will never top my gaffes.”

It’s funny that everyone is so quick to jump on Biden when he misspeaks or says something stupid or rambles when Trump was even worse with that kind of thing. He set a very high bar and I don’t think Joe will ever top him in the gaffe department.

Edit: if only we had a public record of Trump’s many gaffes so we could remember just how bad they were and how many at the time also speculated that he was in cognitive decline.

Anyone who goes in with an open mind can clearly see that Biden has serious memory loss. Not just occasional brain freezes or stuttering. Trump also had a bit of dementia but not to this extent but then he also had mania, where people have grandiosity and go into long rambling speeches without sticking to the topic.

The media and the presidential circle clearly know this. That is why they limit him to scripted speeches. When he goes off tangent it is a mess.

All of us start losing neurons from age 30 onward, yes 30. But it becomes significant from age 60-70 in some and can be marked in certain people. Alzheimer's is dementia with a younger age onset.

Most people with dementia can recollect old memory - what happened to them in their twenties and what happened in 1974 etc. It is the recent memory that goes first. They cannot make new memory and recall them.

A easy way to test this is to ask a friend to show you three objects - like a pen, a clock and a table and ask you to repeat saying it out loud. Then they can ask other questions or engage in conversation. Ask them to ask you 5-10 minutes later what the three objects were. Most young people will recollect all 3 easily. People with mild dementia might forget one. But those with advanced dementia have difficulty remembering two and frequently cannot name even one. Another question is to count backwards from 100, subtracting 7 ...eg. 100, 93, 86, 79 and so on. This is much harder than it appears to people with dementia.

I feel sad for people with dementia. The current medications we have in the market have very little benefit, especially in advanced cases. And I did not vote for Biden or Trump.

No he doesn't always answer yes or know, maybe you haven't watched him enough and are just cherry picking. Obviously his best years are behind him but for people to be complaining about him after the last 4 years is silly, particularly silencing reporters, banning them and answering questions with a helicopter in the background. He would not walk away after a major issue like Jan 6.

I for one like a president that chooses his words carefully and reads.
