I like Don Jr pretty well. He's well spoken and I generally agree with what he says. But I don't think he'd be a viable candidate. He has some inherited baggage, whether deserved or not.

I think DeSantis would be a better candidate. He's articulate, Yale-educated, law degree from Georgetown - you probably won't find better credentials. Plus, he's reasonably conservative. Not right wing, but right of center. Certainly not the left-wing loonies we have "running" the country right now.

^^^^^ Kimberly has likely had that in her mind's eye for years.

2024 - Don Jr. vs. Newsom would be funny. If that happened, Kimberly and Don Jr. would likely get married before that.

It would be the first time (never to happen again) where the wife of one major POTUS candidate is also the ex-wife of the other major POTUS candidate.

The dopamine high is greater with fascism, and it’s clear a lot just want that at this point. I just hope they can come down to boring republicanism again.

"Boring republicanism" is what lead to Trump to begin with.

I read about the poll in another article that had Junior at #3, behind DeSantis at #1. #2 wasn't mentioned, nor was the source for those ratings.

I think Junior doesn't have the skill his old man has. He tries to imitate his Dad, but he doesn't have the right stuff. If Donald Senior is supremely confident in himself. His son has no self confidence at all.

I guess that the ability to light a fire under the dark sides of the character of people who can be influenced into cult like behavior is a skill, but it's a sad commentary that that is the case.

Republicans Want Don Jr. ...

I can't imagine why anyone would think he is qualified.

I thought we had gotten past the 'political dynasty' thing. Just because someone is the son or daughter or spouse of a political candidate does not mean they deserve special consideration for the highest office in the land. Let the person run for mayor or county commissioner some place and let's see how they do.
