Maybe our government can't afford those things?
The cops could have easily dropped a smoke bomb or tear gas in that room those people were in and cleared it out. Seems that's not the end result that those on the left had wanted though.
The Capitol Police budget is $600 million, they can afford pepper bombs, tear gas and other non-lethal forms of crowd suppression. They not only didn't bother to properly control the mob, the only force they used was lethal.
How was the officer who was charged with holding the line supposed to know that? And what were her intentions if she got through? Offer milk and cookies to the lawmakers she was so desperately trying to reach?
The cop who shot her knew what her intentions were, and it was his job to make sure she and the mob behind her never got the chance to carry them out.
Oh non-sense. While the mob was acting like a mob, the capital police should have been conducting mob/crowd control operations. Granted, under duress, these officers had to make split-second decisions, but lack of training along with lack of experience (guess this hasn't happened to these officers before) contributed to a needless loss of life.
As I hinted in my post, I don't want to point fingers at any one other than the one responsible, Nancy Pelosi, the billionairess, career politician whose duties include staffing Capital security forces. Apparently, this was not at all unexpected, yet the security force was woefully understaffed that morning.
No one had guns how can that be a insurrection. Except for the intital wave most of those guys were just milling around. Now they are being thrown in jail with no due process. No interest in procesuciting the summer rioters who did so much more damage and all summer, this was 2 hours.
The officer had no way of knowing that. She was engaged in trying to breach a door that he was in charge of keeping secure.
I'm just amazed that twenty of them weren't shot along with her.
I'm afraid 'no way of knowing that' is unacceptable and certainly not how this security force is trained. Visual... was a weapon visible? No... verbal warning.... If the assailant continues their ingress then and only then should lethal force be used and only if no other alternatives are available. Shooting a person coming through a window is a panic move.

A terrorist mob of 2,000 Trump supporters injured a total of 24 police officers on January 6th, and City-Data Trump supporters try their best to pretend like it was a nothingburger.
That alone tells you everything you need to know about Trump supporters.
This here tells you everything you need to know about the Democrat party:
