Now local authorities have to warn the public, not about a flood or tornado or locust horde, but about the Department of Homeland Security who is endangering the population. They are releasing hundreds of illegal aliens who just crossed the border, who have Covid-19.
The police weren't told by DHS that this would happen, or warned in advance about the invasion of Covid-positive border crashers, or about DHS's failure to obey the law and prevent them from coming in. They didn't find out until citizens started complaining about people gathering at local restaurants and hotel, coughing violently while not wearing masks or taking any other precautions.
Isn't DHS supposed to be
protecting the American people?
Since when do local police have to warn the populace about the bad things
DHS is doing, letting a plague of people infected with Covid into the U.S. against Federal law?
Aren't they supposed to be one the same side? Both of them
protecting American citizens? At least one of them is - the local Texas police. How could DHS possibly not be on board with that?
How do you suppose the police feel about having to warn citizens about the actions of another government agency?

Texas police department warns public after COVID-positive migrants released by Border Patrol into town

A Texas border town police department is warning citizens of the potential danger posed by illegal immigrants infected with COVID-19 being released by Border Patrol agents and housed in local hotels.
The La Joya, Texas, Police Department issued a public health announcement on Facebook this week and explained that concerned citizens had witnessed a family group coughing and sneezing at a local Whataburger. Police said they were told by the group they had been released by Border Patrol into a local hotel.
"The Officer approached the family and was told by them that they had been apprehended by Border Patrol days prior and were released because they were sick with COVID-19," the Facebook post read, adding that they determined the family was being housed at a local hotel by a charity group. The post says the majority of the migrants held were not wearing masks and that border authorities are releasing migrants with coronavirus symptoms to local charities who were not notifying local police that sick people were being housed in the hotels.
