vaccinated people are only 5% as likely to be infected, however this Delta variant is scary enough that they're recommending the vaccinated also wear masks because of that 5%. Does that help?
But lets be real here-when the problem is 20X more likely to be the other group? No one is going to wear masks until that other group acts like it matters,
5% likely to be infected? Or likely to have serious illness and death? How could they know about infections since they stopped widespread testing of vaccinated people? Singapore reported 75% of new infections happening in the vaccinated.
I'm in the 'other group.' Don't wear a mask for me. I had Covid. I wear an n95 to protect myself from the vaccinated AND unvaccinated in indoor crowded spaces.

Israel data shows Pfizer has gone from 95% to 39% in 6 months...which is what Pfizer promised from Day 1...."up to 6 months".

If it was them not caring about the unvaxxed they would simply let this burn through them. 99% of the deaths are the unvaxxed. Given that, for the vaccinated this is just a truly nasty flu. The ONLY reason they're caring about this like this is because of the deaths of the unvaccinated.
I disagree. They are doing this because they know that delta is ripping through vaxxed people too. It doesn't fit their narrative though, so they'll pretend that they care about the unvaxxed.
Just read news from other countries and you'll see that vaxxed are getting sick and dying from delta; we just hide it in the US by not testing vaxxed people.
I'm firmly in the camp of "this is endemic, time to move on", but clearly the CDC isn't ready to give up their control of the US population. Hell, the Centers for DISEASE Control instituted an eviction moratorium, how can that happen?!

One more reason. The eviction moratorium ends on July 31, which is Saturday. This may very possibly be the justification the current regime will put forward forward for extending that moritorium without Congressional approval, which the SCOTUS indicated would be needed for any further extension.
Nobody should be surprised if they sneak out an announcement extending the eviction moratorium late Friday afternoon, so as to bury it as much as possible.
