Let me say at the outset that I haven't followed the events of this shameful tantrum this closely; most of what's availale from what I'll characterize as "neutral" sources reveals little more than the vital statictics and simple geographic origins of those arrested., plus their (allleged) specific actions on the day in question.

But if the blame for this action is to be laid at the feet of "Trumpism", let alone what is broadly defined as American "conservatism", we have every right to know about the ideological beliefs of the rioters -- specific issues rather than oversimplificatins and gneralities.

Of those in the media's designated rogues gallery:

How many can be linked to organizations such as the Internatonal Society for Individual Liberty. Young Americans for Freedom, Americans for Constitutional Action, American Conservative Union, or (asssuming it's still around somewhere) the John Birch Society?

And how many have appeared in. published in, or been mentioned in publications such as American Spectator, or National Review. or websites such as American Thinker?

And finally, how much of the origins of these self-styled "rebels" can be traced to that strange backwater where Extreme Right meets and cross-breeds with Extreme Left?

We all have a right to know -- without cherry-picking of facts by either side.

This will go the way of global warming, i.e., after the initial declarations of faith are made, any hope of a rational discussion will be eliminated.

I'm a Trump supporter but I don't support or identify with the people that took a peaceful protest to an unrecognizable place on January 6th.

The people that have hated Trump and his supporters will continue to reference these rioters in the same breath with everyone that opposes illegal immigration, trade deals that screw American workers and social policies that attack the moral fabric of the nation.

For them, it's easier to do this than try to defend the leftist agenda.

I think we need to look at what was happening months before on a particular high energy website because there were people posting there quite frequently talking about a civil war if Donald didn't win and posting memes with guns, etc. This was months in the making and I am not sure who was behind all of that talk/momentum but I wouldn't be surprised if there was foreign involvement trying to stir the pot
