And our power grid is just going to magically power all of these new electric cars even though it’s already failing in multiple states due to the switch to wind and solar not being able to keep up with the current demands of the residents within the states. Also what about the cost to consumers?

The man is a walking disaster!

President Biden is proposing a return to aggressive Obama-era vehicle mileage standards over five years, according to industry and government officials briefed on the plan.

Biden does understand the push for renewable energy, and looks to exceed Obama's climate goals, which were pretty aggressive. Most Americans are big fans of that and reflect such values in their own lives.

But the haters that want their smoky, hazy life can certainly enjoy that in Venezuela or other denyervilles. Those that want to stink can go live somewhere other than the USA!

Yawn. This nonsense again?

Our power grid might need some infrastructure spending then. Oh the horror. Meanwhile in reality electric cars will take decades to get common, odds are we will have fusion power before we have 50% of folks driving electric cars.

Oh, and mine charges overnight on a 110 plug. You know, when theres the lowest demand for energy.

Ironically that’s what you’re going to get when the country’s economy goes south! Welcome to the US of Venezuela!

Biden doing well again. Why do some posters think they are putting him down or insulting him somehow by pointing out how much better he is than Former Guy? I don't understand it. They are totally making Biden look so good with his renewable push and vision for the future, it almost seems like posters here are promoting Biden by making his opposition look so stupid. What gives?

You are aware that there are some Government requirements that want to make the sales of ICE cars illegal as soon as 2035. Other States, such as Washington or Hawaii, are considering bans as early as 2030. That's not decades...that's years. This isn't a natural progression to Electric Vehicles that will inevitably happen, this is another Government-mandated policy attempting to force more control over people.

The demand for electricity is lowest overnight now. We are only at about 2% of vehicles overall being sold are EV. Do you really think that will be the case when millions of additional people start to try and charge their Electric Vehicles?

You're not going to change the minds of the believers with data, facts or any blather about freedom of choice. Just like covidism, climatism is a religion and its near impossible to shake any believer from their heavenly perch.
And automakers are fully complicit in all this, building what the fed govt desires rather than satisfying the wants of the consumer.
Of no small note; most of the people promoting the utopian dream of an EV in every pot will be dead and gone before the negative impacts of forcing them upon everyone are known.

1) Most Americans are too stupid to understand the cost or viability of Biden's plan.
2) Reflect such values in their own lives? Nonsense. Explain why fuel swilling SUVs and pickups sell so well. Or why the size over the average home has increased so much over the last few decades and is far larger than the average home in most other countries. You're making stuff up. Some folks like to yap about how environmentally conscious they, but take no real action. Separating your recyclables isn't real action.

2) I want leaders to lead, not fold to public opinion.

Biden is pandering to uneducated flat-earthers who don't understand the complexity, cost, or viability of his "feel good" proposals. That doesn't make him stupid, but his does make him willing to capitalize on people's weaknesses (ignorance). That's not a good look on anyone.
