Oh man, I thought the OP meant Kaiser permanante. I was all, “That’s my doctor!!!”
I did too. Didn't make any sense. Regardless, it looks like we are talking 80 jobs going to some state in the middle of the country. Not really a big loss considering there are over 16 million jobs in CA (104,000 were added in just May 2021). Maybe these 80 jobs are big wherever they are going!
Grats, on the +80 jobs I guess??? For whatever reason, CA continues to create tech jobs that would be 1.5-2x better than whatever was lost if it weren't for COL. The outrageous COL and potential savings in salary would be reason enough to move, but CA tech corps just keeps on hiring there for whatever reason. Enjoy the $1.5 million+ home prices to all the tech workers going there I guess.
Yes, I'm sure those 80 jobs will the end of California's economy
Good point! Most States don’t care at all when the Corporate Headquarters of an International Company leave and settle in a more Corporate Friendly State. Easy come, Easy Go.
It’s pretty much a sure bet that Kaiser Aluminum paid no corporate Taxes in California AND that those Kaiser Corporation headquarters employees weren’t aging California income taxes.

If you think the only loss is 80 jobs then that explains a lot of why the state is solid blue, so caught up in the brush strokes and can't see the big picture.

I'm sure California doesn't like businesses relocating. But this particular announcement doesn't seem particularly noteworthy aside from people with their own particular axe to grind.

You show how little you truly understand or don't know about California politics when you write things like "...the state (California) is solid blue..."
The State of California has several small and even large geographic areas that are solidly red in voting patterns, i.e. the Central Valley that includes Fresno (city population 525,000) & also Bakersfield (population 377,000).
If that comes as a shock or revelation and you are curious to know more, don't take my word for it but rather look up the voting returns by county by county for the last few election cycles in Californian and find the data.
The fact is that parts of California are strongly blue and other parts are strongly red.
And as goes the Kaiser Aluminum HQ which is now located in Foothill Ranch (a part of Lake Forest, Ca.), it's situated in a rather red-leaning portion of Orange County which for decades was the traditional foremost center of Republicanism & conservatism in California.
So in fact, the 80 jobs leaving from there are jobs that will be lost from a traditionally red voting area of that county and the state.

As you said, was red, no longer is. How far do you want to go back? It was once owned by Mexico. The red parts are the boonies of CA. Sorry bub, no cigar.
