Israel had 14 people who had the third shot come down with covid with 2 being hospitalized. It's unclear if they had virus prior to the third shot at this time.

They only started giving the 3rd shot last week, so it would be hard to know how many of them already had it.

But it really doesn't matter. Why doesn't it matter? Because if a disease is prevalent, but has a low death rate, we generally don't pay that disease much mind.

Nobody cares much about the common cold, or even the flu. Yes, people die from these, but at a much lower rate than COVID. We are not having any shut downs over the cold or flu. If we can get the death rate of COVID down to or below the death rate from the cold or flu, then COVID will no longer be an issue. And the vaccine does that. It may not be as effective at preventing transmission, but as long as it keeps you from dying, who cares?

This is why they should be testing for the virus and/or anti bodies before any type of vaccine. I always heard shouldn't take the vax if you have an active infection. Nor does one really need it if they had the disease and recovered.

As noted too much about this goes against convential thinking, logical and/or previous accepted practice.

Sounds like good odds to me so far. Can anyone point to an article or statement stating that any vaccine is 100% effective?

Doesn't it take two weeks for antibodies to build up to their maximum level after the booster shot too?

Looks like I'll be getting a booster in September.

14...out of 400,000? Seems reasonable.
